Clemson is in no position to hire a DC right now. The AD went to Miami just a few days ago. The OC is being courted by several school as a HC.

With NSD just around the corner, this could be where the tide turns against lil ole Clempson...

Losing Venables was the end of Clemson's dominance. How he didn't get a head coaching gig sooner is a shock to me. Dabo is nothing more than a glorified Orgeron. It's going to start getting ugly for Clemson over the next few years.

Tony Elliott has no business being a head coach the issues Clemson had on the offensive side of the ball this year was glaring

Depends on who he hires.

Kids still want to go to clemson. Dabo has built up some goodwill.

Acc is an easier conference.

While I don't disagree, if someone's dumb enough to hire him that's on them...

But you're kind of missing the point. Dabo can't hire anyone until they have a new AD in place. Be the time they have a new AD in place, all the top names for DC will be scooped up. By the time they have a new DC in place, we're well past NSD.

The dominoes are starting to fall....

Let’s be honest, LSU stole Clemson’s soul in New Orleans and they’ve yet to recover…in fact, it’s only getting worse.

Good.

My guess is he didn’t really want one while his kid was playing at Clemson. Only way to explain it.

Maybe this is why Dabo was seen with Mark Davis at the Raiders game.

He was the highest payed DC in the business. BV was making $2.5 million a year at Clemson. For reference, Shane Beamer made $2.75 million as HEAD COCAH at SC.

I don’t see why they need to have a permanent AD in place just to hire an assistant coach. Hell, Miami is hiring an HC without an AD in place. Plus, Clemson will likely have an interim AD.

It means he wanted the KSU job but was never offered so he stayed on as a DC at Clemson until OU made him an offer. He wasn’t leaving for just any spot. KSU was choice number one for him.

A guy who played his college ball there, was a GA there, coached there, and wanted to go back home. Why is this so hard for you to understand? It’s the only job that he put his name in for before he got the OU job. I heard it from one of the other Clemson coaches. But this info has been out there for years and comes up every off season.
