I mean, there’s a portal now. That does separate them a bit from now to then. However, he can and undoubtedly will take players with him whether he coached his last game tonight or into the playoffs.

If someone doesn't wanna be there, they shouldn't be there.

No butthurt shite. But, if you're not committed you don't need to be there.

This!!! We don’t pay the buyouts but the people that do will eventually get tired of paying them.

genuinely who does it benefit?

The media told me it’s all about the players, so Ole Miss did not care about their players.

He can coach ole miss and actively recruit against them and try to convince Ole Miss recruits to flip to his new school?

He wouldn’t be able to do that if he weren’t coaching OM in the CFP?

I feel for the guy/kid that’s supported and cheered that shithole team for 30 years to finally get into a ship race and the program he’s cheered and supported for three decades shits on his best chance of it being worth it because they have little dick syndrome. I feel for the fan truly I do.

You literally wouldn’t. You cannot allow your coach to leave for an in conference rival, during a playoff run, recruit your players to his next destination, and it be just fine. It makes zero sens

I mean he can still recruit them.

Yeah he can recruit Ole Miss players to LSU... which is exactly why Ole Miss would be bitchmade if they let him coach after accepting a job with a direct rival.

This board would be apoplectic if we were in Ole Miss' position and let him continue coaching.

It's basically the equivalent of a man leaving his wife for a hotter woman... and you think he should be able to continue living under his wife's roof for the time-being and continue to bang her and don't understand why she doesn't want him to?

If you view a college football team on par with your wife, sure.

Even if Saban jumped on board, that team isn't sniffing a ring. And they know that

Um OSU was willing to do this for the North Texas coach. It could be done.

You have it dead wrong. This is how a real man handles the situation:
quote:

In 1989, Bo Schembechler, then Michigan's athletic director, fired basketball coach Bill Frieder and replaced him with assistant coach Steve Fisher. Schembechler's decision was prompted by Frieder accepting a job at Arizona State just before the NCAA Tournament, and Schembechler famously stated, "A Michigan man will coach Michigan". The team, with Fisher at the helm, went on to win the national championship.

In past seasons prior to the bs he would've been able to do this.

Downvote away if you are a cuckhold.

I downvoted because you are wrong about past seasons, as my post above shows.

And the comparison of Saban going to Miami in 2004 is different. He wasn’t going to a rival; he was “quitting” college football.

He's not asking to work the LSU job AND coach in the playoffs. He's asking to accept the LSU job for NEXT YEAR, and finish THIS YEAR with his current team.

And you would trust Lane Kiffin to do his best for Ole Miss instead of sabotaging Ole Miss to help him in his future LSU job? Lane Kiffin?

If the shoe were on the other foot I would absolutely let him coach LSU in the playoffs. No question.

And you wonder why your boss doesn't let you operate the fry station without supervision.
