Wait until the season is over. I don’t think it’s done.

I am not trolling when I say y’all will be cussing Weis Jr before y’all’s 3rd game next year. It will be insanely obvious when he is calling plays and when Lane gets frustrated and takes over and starts calling plays himself.
yeah it's going to suck having a top 10 offense year after year.

#2 total offense in the country. Man y’all were spoiled! And Brian Kelly told us we were spoiled with our offense!

His offenses were ranked in triple digits when he was the OC at USF. He was about to get fired from there and then Lane for some fricking reason hired him away before they could (hence the nickname Coach Nepobaby)

Believe me, y’all will lose games if Lane allows him to fully control the offense. Every loss we had last year was when Weis was inexplicably given full playcalling duties.

I don't think you realize how terrible our offense has been. We haven't even sniffed 30 points in an SEC game this year. We'll take an occasional dumb run/screen if we know that Lane will take over if it gets out of hand.

I don’t know much about those offensive coaches, but a cohesive offensive staff is critical these days. There’s so much responsibility to spread around.

A good team needs a small army of coaches and assistants to scout recruits, scout future opponents, develop game plans, coach, teach techniques, etc.,
and it only works if everyone is on the same page.

Lane bringing his offensive brain trust with him is HUGE.

There weren’t many things that frustrated me about Lane when he was here but when he chose to take over playcalling and when he chose to let it ride was infuriating. The Kentucky game for example. We couldn’t piss a drop all game running the ball and CWJ insisted on running QB draw after QB draw or a run up the middle 7 straight plays because it worked once for a 9 yard gain.

My blood pressure is going up just talking about it

Offensive game plan is much more
Important than calling plays. Ole Miss fans crediting every bad play call to Weis and the good ones to Kiffin is hilarious. It doesn’t work that way.

He called one good game when he was given full control of the offense and that was against Penn State in the Peach Bowl.

Again, I promise you it is incredibly obvious when he is calling the plays and when Kiffin is.

That's fair - I think that may just come with the territory. Not sure any staff will be fool proof from idiotic calls. I see 30+ points consistently from LK, while we've had typically terrible or erratic offense, so it should be an improvement. We'll probably be calling to fire him within the first game.

Several O. Miss pod casts are saying that Golding (?) is now the permanent HC & is going to run the offense, all good according to these folks. They also confirm that the A.D. has doubled all assistants' salaries in an attempt to keep the staff intact.

That's a lot of turnover considering they immediately named an internal replacement.

Usually coaches will opt to stay where they're comfortable.

Do you think Judge will call plays? Or do you think they allow Weiss back to finish the season like McCready suggested?
