Wait, why would LSU allow that? Forget Ole Miss, he needs to be recruiting and putting together a staff.

You can still put together a staff. And have someone like Orgeron head the recruiting. Not tons you can do in a week regardless other than reassure the recruits

Hubby with questionable past playing serious footsie with old famous hoe who has name recognition, cache, and (not unreasonable) promises of fame and glory.

Wife who tried to provide hubby with stable, supportive atmosphere and saw hubby successfully rehabilitate his image is understandably taken aback and is displaying an understandable sense of self-pride and dignity.

OP blames wife.

Would you allow LSU’s coach to finish the playoffs if he was headed to Alabama? Most LSU fans would likely say no. Just look at it for a minute from their perspective.

Two weeks minimum, and if they win round 1 that’s three weeks semi wasted. Won’t happen.

IF Kiffin does come to LSU, you might get a chance to do this in two or three years.

I can't believe some of you need to have it explained to you how leaving N Texas and Tulane for bigger programs is MUCH different than leaving Ole miss for LSU.

Consider the average intelligence…half of everyone is below that.

Each individual school should do what they feel is best for themselves.

If it were LSU you wouldn't be here saying they should follow what some low level schools are doing.

And you're still up here assuming what we all hope is going to happen. That isn't guaranteed.

I don’t care about Ole Miss at all. I hope they get pissed and allow Lane to leave for LSU early. It makes it better for LSU. The sooner Lane comes the better.

Ole Miss will never allow that. They will never be able to accept the fact that they are a bottom tier program in the SEC.

I was listening to Moscona this morning, and from what I understood, Ole Miss really can't fire Lane unless they want to pay him $30m+ in buyout. There is not even mitigation in his contract, so they would have to pay that out no matter what.

Ole Miss is in a tough spot, but could likely reassign him to a nobody job in the Athletic Dept I guess. Not sure.

Ole Miss hasn't won shite since before Black people had the right to vote.

They're not the program you think they are.

If Kiffin was leaving for the NFL they would 100% let him coach out the season.

But it’s much different when leaving a major program for another major program - especially when you are in direct competition with that school for recruits.

LSU is one of ole miss’s biggest rivals so it’s much more personal then a north Texas coach goin to Oklahoma state. Feelings and pride are much more involved here

They can suspend him and let Lane fight it in court.

North Texas may never reach the playoff again...same with Tulane

Fake News regarding Tulane.

2022: Green Wave were best Group of Five Program and beat USC in Cotton Bowl.

2023: They were a checked out Coach Willie Fritz loss against SMU in the AAC title game from being the best Group of Five Program again and going to the Fiesta Bowl. They were favorites against SMU and Fritz sabotaged the play calling.

2024: Boise warranted the spot but Tulane was in the CFP Top 25 Poll.

2025: They are in the driver’s seat again.

Their success is sustainable and they shouldn’t jeopardize 2026 or 2027 success by having someone who is quitting the program and doesn’t call plays hang around.

Ole Miss should let Kiffin announce his move to LSU. They “should be happy” to be there.
