no way Venables can coach Defense and be the head coach. He is going to have to delegate the defense to Roof.

Ehhh, he can. But Roof will be doing the day to day teaching while Venables may only call plays or make critical decisions.

Roof's not as bad as it sounds since Venables is the HMIC, but he's going to have to keep a heavy hand on things.

Ted Roof was a defensive assistant to Venables at Clemson.

OU spent a bunch of money so far. Venables will control the defense but they needed a cheap hire to organize and manage the D during games. I’m not crazy about the hire but somebody has to be there and supposedly venables’ contract is huge, and lebby was very expensive also.

Ted Roof!!!!

Brent gonna be working double

Honestly that’s smart.

That defense is gonna be bad for a few years. BV needs a fall guy

I'm not going to be the one to blast the girl on the CCB but she can be found via Facebook. She's just mediocre and not worth the search.

Exactly any HC’s main hire is the opposite side of the ball’s coordinator from his area of expertise. Well, unless it’s BeBe and has no area of expertise.

Oregon came into the BCSCG averaging 49 points and > 300 yards rushing per game.

Roof’s defense held them to 19 and 75.

Dude earned his ring.
