Issue with Rugg's offense is he runs a slow mesh RPO which puts immense pressure on defenses but it also does it on offenses. You need a really good oline for something like that so we'd need to hit the transfer portal hard. I could see that scheme being sloppy initially for us. High ceiling scheme though. Can be a nightmare to guard.

Then I was told about Raymond and Frank weeks before it happen. So idk.

How would you know weeks before it happened?

Kelly has only been here a week or so. How would they already know they were getting rid of raymond?

I will say i reallynlike ruggerio. Tutored jamie newmann and sam hartman.

So what’s the back story here? He asked for more money and they declined? Did he and Kelly not mesh?Obviously there is information out there .

Yep, it's a new era. I'm good with it. LSU needed a shake up and so fresh blood. Been stale for way too long.

Just drives me nuts when people lie to make LSU look bad.

I get it, It's sad seen some of these coaches go, but it was time for a refresh.

He was the DB/Recruiting coord.

With the hire of Wilson, he lost the RC title.

He also wasn’t named AHC

would love to see him running that slow mesh stuff with LSU players

forgive me for asking, but i can't tell if this is sarcasm or not.

i believe you are being genuine? i am very interested in his offense. i have seen some against it in the SEC and then I have seen others in favor of it.

I told you Raymond leaving was a distinct possibility about 3 weeks ago.

Well sure it was, we didn't even have HC 3 weeks ago.

Young isn’t always better. Member when everyone was excited for that young playcaller Jake Peetz?

Both Denbrock and Rougarou are running top tier offenses in college football.

There's a chasm between past prime and totally inexperienced like Peetz. I don't think either is too old and I trust Kelly more than O to make well thought out choices. I just hope Kelly doesn't go for the "comfortable hire".

I believe you. Ruggiero is actually an interesting name. He runs a very RPO heavy offense

I read up on him a little bit, and the slow mesh RPO offense was specificallly designed for the type of guys they were able to recruit at Wake. He had more of pro style offense at Bowling Green, but they knew they couldn't recruit the O-line at Wake to run that in the ACC. This guy will keep a lot of those RPO concepts here, I'm sure, but he has the ability to mold his offense to best fit the guys he has. That's a major positive for him in my opinion.

Denbrock is 57 and Ruggiero is 55. I know it's not the same, but I'm starting to get a sense of when O wanted to fill his staff with "old guys" and acquaintances.

Brian Polian - 46
Frank Wilson - 48
Brad Davis - 41
Kerry Cooks - 47
Jacob Flint - 36

That's actually a very young staff so far. Not sure what the frick you're talking about.

That's why I believe him because he can bend his scheme to player strengths. If someone like Brennan came back he doesn't have to run a heavy RPO offense while someone like Howard it would likely benefit his athleticism more. I think Brennan can run some RPO and he'd probably handle it better since he already has experience with it. Shame he didn't stay. Main point is he can adjust based on who's at QB. I think he'd be a good hire for LSU. I like it. I'd take it 1000x over on Dunbrock. This lines up with BK looking to get an OC to fit his QBs.

This is fair. I personally couldn’t believe it when it was told to me. And figured they’d do anything to keep him.
