Would be a horrible fit. Sumrall has stated that he hates tobacco and would never want to coach a team with North in their name. He would be extremely over his head.

Will be a hint on realignment whether they hire a coach with SEC or BIG background.

Mack is smart. Resign or retire then no pay. He gets fired then collects whats owed him.

I was on the road a few weeks back and Mack Brown was on this SiriusXM College Sports Radio Show giving such a pompous/long winded interview about how great he was for beating Wake and how much he was looking forward to the 2025 season.

It definitely came off very desperate and after 20 minutes - I was just thinking: "Does he not have something better to be doing during a game week?"

Mack should get into politics. His favorite and best part of coaching seemed to be schmoozing the big money boosters.

What’s funny is apparently he offered to resign earlier this season and they said no, then they asked him to retire and he said no at the end of the year, so now they are firing him

lol! I honestly don’t know if you would be their first choice but obviously his days at tulane are numbered. May wait on stoops at Kentucky though.

He seemed like a prime broadcast booth coach. Could've been making easy money. Maybe he just really liked coaching.

He was in the booth, and was pretty bad at it. Dude knew recruiting, and that was about it.

They should have waited and done it on Christmas Eve like he did way back when he was at UNC the first time. Some with a note on their desks.

Would have been a great gig to be the 'head coach' let the assistant coaches do the heavy lifting....just show up to a big recruits house with the national championship ring and help with fund raising.

Didn't Mac bail on Tulane to go to UNC the first time?

UNC should be a really enticing job. By far the best current opening.

It seems like this is going to be a slow coaching changing season. This may be the best job opening this year.

UNC is a sleeping giant IMO. If they get their Dabo or something, look out.
