The dark ages of LSU football, when game day partying in the parking lot numbed the pain of the proceeding three and a half hours, might again be upon us.
Four of the five SEC head coaches who have been hired since the end of the regular season - Arkansas' Chad Morris, Florida's Dan Mullen, Texas A&M's Jimbo Fisher and Mississippi State's Joe Moorhead - are known for their progressive offensive philosophies.
Then, review Orgeron's questionable coaching hires since he was promoted from interim to head coach two days after the 2016 regular season finale.
It's hard to shake a feeling of impending doom.

Well put. Its been a long time coming for LSU to finally move to a modern spread offense. I guess Coach O has stuck his head in a hole in the ground for the last 7 years because the pro-style and west coast offense is dead...the NFL even runs more versions of the spread than the standard 2-back pro-style.
All of the positive experience Coach O had with the west coast offense was brought upon by some of the most talented college football teams in history at USC, including Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush.
Wasn't even Palmer at USC when Orgeron started out there?

You sound like an oblivious, blind optimist.

Not really but that is what you expect to hear from 18 years old. I know he wants Freeze so do I but no responsible adult writes stuff like that.

I really don't know how you can think O is doing a good job running this program. He had a decent(barely) year but his admin ability is horrendous

You don't have to support Orgeron to recognize that that's really poor journalism. The Times Picayune basically just published a message board rant.
For the record, the two parts I have a problem with are the definitive statement regarding a return to the dark ages and the part when he goes through the schedule. While many of us are worried about where this is heading, there is no definitive proof that we're heading to the dark ages (6 straight losing seasons highlighted by a 2-9 finish in 1992). That's butt hurt fan level stuff, not professional journalism.
Everything else, I think, is fair, though.

Objective media is an oxymoron these days. You must not ever watch the news.

I do. It's ridiculous. I hate it. Just because it's probably broken beyond repair, doesn't mean I can't speak out about it.
