If UCLA misses out on Chip Kelly, Kevin Sumlin is intriguing. I think he could win in the Pac-12.

quote:

Chip Kelly
It's the obvious big name. Kelly compiled a 46-7 record from 2009-12 at Oregon, and he has proven he can win big in the Pac-12. Florida already is in the mix for Kelly, according to multiple reports, and the Bruins aren't going to win a bidding war. It won't be easy to land Kelly.

Lane Kiffin
Kiffin's one-year makeover at Florida Atlantic is impressive, and he's going to be courted by several SEC schools. Would Kiffin prefer to head back toward the West Coast, where he had experience with the Raiders and Trojans? Kiffin's system could be a big hit with UCLA, and it's a boom-or-bust move worth examining. UCLA will take a look.

Kevin Sumlin
Sumlin's time at Texas A&M appears to be running short, and he would do well with a fresh start. Sumlin is a consistent winner, and he might be more appreciated with the Bruins. This is a good fit. Remember, Sumlin is 86-42 as a head coach. He can win in the Pac-12.

Bryan Harsin
Harsin continues to win at Boise State — he's 40-11 the last four seasons in the Mountain West Conference. Chris Petersen worked out at Washington, and there's no reason to believe Harsin wouldn't succeed with a move up.

Matt Campbell
Campbell's remarkable turnaround at Iowa State is noteworthy, and UCLA would be another bump up for a coach who will be sought after by most Power 5 programs with each season. Campbell proved he could win with the Cyclones despite no obvious ties. He could do the same with UCLA.

Mike Norvell
Norvell has Memphis in the hunt for an American Athletic Conference championship, and he's built on the momentum Justin Fuente created within the program. Norvell served as an assistant coach at Arizona State from 2012-15, too. He's on the way up, and this is the Bruins' chance to snag him.

Sumlin would be interesting at UCLA. He can recruit and he’s good enough where the bottom isn’t likely to fall out. I saw him connected with Nebraska as well if they don’t get Frost

Has a huge buyout, which i think will deter everyone this time around. 10mil to even get in the door.

Kiffin would be interesting. He loves him some attention, and u win, u will get it in tinsel town. Hell, they tried to make Jerkoff Petey a cool guy when he won at USC. Local press, media, etc. He was a rock star.

Lane is all about being a rock star, and he actually fits their mold.

We really need a board for this coaching changes shite. They could even call it "Coaching Changes" so it would be obvious.

He's a pretty lazy recruiter.

UCLA would be wise to put in a no Chavis clause.

I think he’s gotten much better compared to the beginning of his tenure, when I agree he was lazy. All of my problems with Sumlin relate to how he manages the staff and players on campus, now with how he recruits

If he’s lazy and you’re saying you can be lazy at A&M and still land top 15 classes every year then I hope you’re right

Lemme get this straight. UCLA is gonna spend a shitload of money to replace Mora with Sumlin, who could've easily just run the clock enough to prevent their record breaking comeback win over ATM?

You know that there is only one hire that makes sense for UCLA; UCLA knows it. Everyone knows it. That coach is Jeff Fisher

i gotta guess that at least one of these major openings jires kiffin. if not for his joey freshwater routine, he'd be the 2nd best candidate this year.

kiffin to ucla would be a slam dunk on every level.

That would be a great fit for Kiffin . It will be interesting to see where Kiffin ends up .
