He has been the most highly coveted coach the last 2 years during coaching searches.

For whatever the reason a very small faction thinks he would not be a big name. Well, news flash, he is a big name. And the rest of the country knows it.

Napier would be a logical/solid hire. I’d be cool with it. He’ll probably do very well at LSU.

That said, I definitely wouldn’t consider it a “splash” hire. He may very well be considered the next big thing in coaching circles and ADs, but nationally most casual fans have never heard of him. Definitely not saying bad hire or that even matters, just pointing out he’s still a relative unknown nationally.

He is a solid 3rd place for me. Kiffin, Aranda, then Napier.

He is a guy I think would be a solid hire for sure, but I think he is probably 4th or 5th on Woodward’s list behind even bigger name coaches like Riley, Franklin, and Kiffin

No it wouldn’t be.
He’d have to earn his way to big splash.
You’re in denial.

A big splash hire? Napier is such a big splash hire that if Woodward strikes out on his first 10 options then Napier will possibly get a call. Maybe.

I'm sure there's no bias here. What percentage of the casual football fan knows or cares about ULL?

I wouldn’t say it would be a big splash hire by any means, but I think he’s a helluva coach and would do a great job at LSU.

Lot of my fsu friends wanted him when they fired Taggert. A lot of my gator friends want him now. His star is on the rise for sure.
