The fact that they got blown the frick out by Texas who has since lost to Kansas and various other shite teams. I don't usually do this team is better because they beat this one and the other lost to them crap, but Texas is fricking awful and they beat ULL by 20.....That would lead you to believe that they are not that great in the grand scheme of things.

Was Texas their most formidable opponent this season?

There are many more examples of failed opportunities, rather than success stories. The gamble isn't worth it at this juncture. Time for a "get serious" hire or the program will completely crumble.

You see I hear this but I haven’t seen any real large number of examples. I mean all head coaches don’t come from other P5 programs. I’d love to get Riley, or Smart, Or Day. But you aren’t getting those guys typically. That’s not where coaches typically come from. And there are good coaches from all walks. In fact the 3 “white whales” I named above were all coordinators with no prior HC experience. Good thing those blue blood schools didn’t set such high standards that fans on this board have set.

Time to realize Woodward can’t snap his fingers and grab whichever coach he wants. It may come down to an Aranda or Napier, which isn’t necessarily a disaster. Woodward is good at this - he’ll find the right guy, I’m certain.

Many say that Saban ran Napier off at Alabama because he was worried about being usurped and passed up by a younger and better coach.

Your stance on them losing to Texas is disingenuous. They shot themselves in the foot over and over and couldn’t stop Bijan Robinson. That same Texas team had Oklahoma on the ropes for 4 quarters until the very end and then the season spiraled out of control and Sark lost the locker room. That Texas team has tons of talent, way more than UL.

If anyone thinks ULL should beat Texas, that’s a credit to what Napier has done.

If you don’t think he’s a good coach, you’re a moron. Do I think he should be the guy? I don’t know. But if you can win 10 games consistently in Lafayette, I like your chances pretty much anywhere.

But Texas beat TCU (70-35!) who beat Baylor who beat Oklahoma…

Napier would probably do good but he’s the most overrated coach on this board. People really think he’s the next Saban

You show me where I’ve posted something “dumb” in this thread. I do my best to back up my opinions. I don’t call people dumb or in your words “moronic” when they state an opinion and try to back it up. All opinions are valid. Though you’re making me rethink that.

Explain? There are numerous threads saying Napier should be the guy and LSUs number 1 choice. That’s overrated. He should be down the list after a few guys say no.

Or they just think it’s not the right hire for LSU right now. Sounds like you’re the one with insecurities, numb nuts.

Once again, could you please elaborate?

Have you heard that Aranda will be hired or that Napier won’t be hired and you’re inferring it’s Aranda?

You’ve said from the start that Woodward wouldn’t fire O unless he already had someone in place to take the job. Aranda has been the coach since before O was let go? That would mean that the smoke around Jimbo and Riley is BS and Woodward has only had his sights on Aranda which I would find hard to believe.

I share but elaboration is not on the menu.

The season plays out. Period.

We’re others considered? Yes. Was it fluid? Of course.

It wasn’t in place prior to O being let go. I don’t know that I’ve said that…..

They usually don’t beat themselves with big miscues or busts. But thing with Napier is the in game adjustments.

I may be remembering wrong. Anyway, thanks.

I’d be happy with Aranda or Napier
