But he coaches at UL...and he still doesnt suck

Cleaned that up for you. 5 years there and he has won every year. I wouldnt mind napier. He is a good play caller. If UF comes in grabs him and we have to go to a fall back plan then will not be happy.

LSU could only be lucky to get Napier. But, he is NOT going to LSU. 100% guarantee. He will coach a couple more years, then leave ....

He’s a good coach and they’re a well coached team. I’d be happy with Napier. People against Napier(as in they’d melt if he were the hire) are just projecting some insecurities and ego.

He’s a very good coach, but I said the exact same thing about Justin Fuente six years ago. Memphis was literally considering dropping football down to FCS after the Porter horror show left them in the bottom 10 in the FBS. Fuente worked miracles getting a school that plays tougher competition and had never seen consistent winning to become a stable program.

Fuente pretty much had his pick of jobs a few years ago and VA Tech was universally praised for making one of the home run hires of the cycle. And now he’s been fired after it didn’t work out. Good coaches get fired every day. In Fuente’s case, he didn’t commit to recruiting on the level that’s necessary and he didn't do a good job handling the bigger spotlight of a P5 program with a passionate fanbase.

He’s the same guy who won 10 games in year one and went to the ACC Title Game and got 9 in year two. A shitty coach doesn’t pull that off, but there’s more to being a coach at a big P5 program than being a good X and O guy who can rebuild at the G5 level.

I’m not making any predictions on Napier. I’m just saying that coaches from the G5 level who look like sure things rarely are. P5 is a different world and not everything a coach can do at the G5 level, especially the Sun Belt level, directly translates up. There’s a reason that most of these guys (Brohm, Row the Boat, Drinkwitz, etc) have to take a middle rung step up first.

All that said, I would take Napier over BOB or Jimbo.

He made it clear to admin he was on board if offered.

Him not coming has nothing to do with the awesomeness that is ULL…..

LSU does NOT deserve such a great, bright, young coach. Go with your other guys. Napier deserves a lot better program. He will not stay in the state of Louisiana once he leaves UL.

Well. Isn’t that rich.

You’ve shown your bitter/jaded colors. Must suck to know an elite program with 4 NCs is only 45min away from Laffy.

Charles are you of the opinion that LSU shouldn’t hire ULL’s coach because they’re at ULL?

Not at all.

Poking at the angry poster.

Napier is a solid/talented coach. No doubt.

What is amazing. Napier has done an EVEN MORE INCREDIBLE job with UL's defense. LSU fans have NO IDEA what this coach has done in such a short time. He has THREE(3) incredible running backs. He has a 4 star QB coming next year. He has gotten talent from the SEC schools through the portal. This man is a MASTER COMMUNICATOR that bleeds positivity at all times.

Ok

Have you had a chance to see the National Championship Trophy at LSU? It’s nice.

But, I agree. Napier is a good coach.

I appreciate what he’s done. I also think he’s ready to move up to the big leagues
