Same here. Make Riley tell you no, and unless Woodward can hire someone like Brian Kelly, Fickell (sp) or someone like that, they should hire Napier.

Who? Or is this another anecdotal comment thrown out on this board?
Criteria to support your argument should include a ton (your words, not mine) of names; have done equally as well as Napier; and are not “deserving” of an SEC job (a handful of SEC programs have at the very least thought he was deserving enough to get a look, even not including the season he’s having now).
Just wanna be fair and have an honest discussion.

ULM beat Liberty FYI... Tell me one sunbelt coach that made jump to Top 5 program in country. Woods isn’t putting his neck on the line for Napier, and thank God it isn’t left up to our fans to make this hire.

Look, I know I'm arguing against Napier, but I'm playing devil's advocate here. I think there's a chance he's our next coach, and at the moment I don't feel so good about that. I've been trying to get the Napier fans to sell me on him (so that I won't be down if he's hired), but no one seems willing or able to do so. That is not filling me with confidence.

I would be really surprised if Woody hired Napier... that's not to say he won't be a great P5 coach one day, but this just doesn't makes sense to me for Woodward.

I don't give a flying frick about Napier.
Have you watched the game? It's ridiculous.
The paying refs stuff is a not serious comment, but they have gotten insane calls that directly affected the scoring.
And he is 0-8 on 3rd down. That should be a concern. They clearly have a talent advantage over Liberty. This game SHOULD be a blowout given all the turnovers and officiating.
BTW, 21-14 NOW.
THIS GAME SHOULD NOT EVEN BE CLOSE! They've had tremendous field position all game and they were gifted 7 points off a punter mishandling a snap.
By all means though get defensive about a coach. I am pissed off by the officiating.

No shite! You’ve bashed him consistently. I’m watching the game. It’s like any football game, sometimes calls go your way sometimes they don’t. But that isn’t all I’m seeing. I do know he’s winning on the road as a dog.

Fair enough, but again this is anecdotal. Every team has these moments or games. It’s football. If we held every coach to a minimum statistical standard every game, no mulligans, we’d have no coach.
But he wins. At the end of the day that’s my favorite statistic- the score.
