Seems like a good hire. Been there. Knows the lay of the land. Thoughts?

I don't know if that's a good fit again for State
I would go in another direction or stay in the Leach family if you can with maybe a younger type coach to compete with Kiffin
Kiffin is who you have to beat and hiring a retread Mullen is not gonna get you ahead of Ole Miss

Seems like they would just hire Arnett and call it a day.

At this point it seems the best play is lock down their DC and see what he can do as head coach for a couple of seasons. Looks like it's just a matter of sustaining what The Pirate had and trying to build on it.

Chris Mullin? I'm not sure the players will be able to understand him. Plus he's a basketball coach.

With Rogers coming back, I'd try to continue what was being built for at least one more season. Putting the program in limbo can be disastrous for recruiting but I'm not sure that's as crippling as it once was in the portal era.

The no AD thing is really going to frick this up for them worse than no Leach. If there was a competent AD already in place there, there would be two easy options.

1. Promote Arnett, and be done with it.

2. Get the most gettable Leach disciple, Dana Holgorsen.

Holgorsen makes a lot of sense.

Yeah Tillman won’t let his beer buddy leave Houston. He supposedly matched whatever UT offered to Herman. Houston vs stark Vegas ooffff

Yep. And he'll need a new DC. Arnett will walk and easily get 1/2 a mill more than what he gets now if not more.

Dr. House! Best one to take the job. Like he said he will want to be a HC someday. This might be the time for him to take it.

I agree with this. We’ve got Tony Hughes who spent a couple of years at Jackson State as HC and Jay Hopson who was HC at Alcorn and USM on staff. Although not SEC experience they could provide some assistance bringing Arnett along if needed. Also Jackie is still around the program and I’d be reaching out to Steve Spurrier about an advisory role if needed since his son on staff, of course assuming the son doesn’t have an issue with it.
