Sherman is trying to get a staff together... I know of one guy that was contacted and he turned Sherm down.
I know a good DC that he might be able to get.
I've never been too high on Fran.

I know! It's gonna be awesome! Recruits are totally going to spooge over him just like they did for Dave Wannstedt and Chan Gailey!

KGSoloMan5000-
Ok we get it, you're not a JDR guy.

Pointing out problems is easy, solutions...a little tougher.

Who's your magic answer to the "pending" HC vacancy at LSU?

Please enlighten us..

Hair-splitter. He played football for USC, and graduated years later from the University of Kansas.

First off, I dont think Miles is leaving. Not because he doesnt want to go, but because Michigan is going to take someone else.

Assuming he does leave, I honestly don't have a magic answer. I'm just a dude on a chat board. But I will admit I am on a militant crusade against Del Rio. I think he is a overrated meathead, ala Hasslett and Wannstedt. I have yet to hear one legitimate justification for him to be our next coach, and I think the main reason people want him is because they think getting a semi-successful NFL coach would reflect well on LSU.

Two weeks ago I would have agreed with you on your opinion of the Miles to Michigan situation...But I'm afraid that ship has sailed.

As for your opinion on JDR...as I pointed out in my last post. Negativity is easy, I guess that's why so many people go that route.

"assuming" Miles is gone. Someone is going to have to coach the team. If not JDR, who?

Pretty simple question. Which you can either answer, or you can just continue to mindlessly pound on JDR.

I heard that Bobby Hebert said on the radio (WWL) last night that he knows delrio and can confirm that he's interested in the job.

Heard it with m own 2 ears.
A caller asked Bobby what high profile coach might want the job. Bobby said he thought there would a good many coaches that covert the LSU job and that he knew DelRio would be interested. The co host added that Bibby and DelRio were roommates with the Saints and have remained very close friends.

Rant>>>>>>CC

He should stay here.

Successful without big names in the NFL. That in no way spells being a successful head coach at any level.

Let's see... Del Rio began his coaching career with the New Orleans Saints in 1997 as the Strength and Conditioning coach. In 1999, he accepted a position with the Baltimore Ravens as their linebackers coach. After the 2001 season, he was named defensive coordinator of the Carolina Panthers. In his first season as defensive coordinator, he led them to the second best defense in the league that season.

In 2003, Del Rio became the second head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars following Tom Coughlin's dismissal.

This guy has leapfrogged others in only a few years. From a S&C coach to a DC in the NFL in 4 years. Then 2 years later HC. Obviously he is impressing minds greater than yours.

Dude, he has NEVER recruited. No way he could sweet talk recruits with an NFL Super Bowl ring and charm. We need someone who speaks like Elmer Fudd like Miles to land top notch recruits.

I'm going to nominate Mack Brown for a Nobel Prize since apparently recruiting is as complex as nuclear physics.

I don't know what the frick I'm thinking. Apparently I haven't been reading this board enough.

There was a mediocre coach that came from the NFL that coaches at one of the schools in Los Angeles. The school escapes me. Del Rio is more of a success in the NFL than he was. JMHO.
