I like it. He's the anti-Pelini. If ever there was a hire that said "frick you" to the previous coach it's this one.

Yeah Pelini never lost more than 4 and Riley never lost less than that. It's definitely a "frick you"to Nebraska fans.

You might think he's a no-name but I guarantee you he has been on shite ton of "short lists" in the past 10 years.

Next season might be ok but I dont think it will be great, but they shouldn't fire him over one season because growing pains come in. I would give him until is 3rd year to prove himself.

This is the kind of hire I'd expect Alleva to make. Scares the shite out of me.

Everybody at Nebraska will be pissed, but he's a really good coach. His record is very good when you consider that he was in Corvallis.

I'm not sure what Nebraska fans expected. That's not nearly as good of a job as it was 20 years ago.

No dummy. I'm talking personality.
Mike Riley will never embarrass NU, he will never have to apologize to players for his craziness and he will win football games.

This could be the final nail in Neb program.

Honestly a shocking hire both on the Riley and Nebraska front.

I bet the Husker message boards are in full meltdown mode at the moment.

Mike Price had some 10 win seasons, and went to a Rose Bowl. So winning at a program in the NW, who doesn't value football, has been done.

Oh, give it a rest

Florida has arguably the respected AD in the country, and they just hired who technically a very unproven coach. The job market is very iffy right now, so LSU fans better be careful for what they wish for

Maybe his personality will get them through the 6 win seasons.

It's also a "frick you" to the fans, to the program, to the boosters, everyone.

If he gets a good coaching staff I think he can do pretty good. I just dont want the embracing losses.

I am gonna try and stay positive with this hire.

This kinda feels like Callahan all over again, granted their personalities are a 180 from each other. Riley's style doesn't seem to fit Nebraska.

Mike Riley is a damn good coach, not sure why everyone is complaining.

This. Oregon State is damn near impossible to win 7 games at considering the facilities adn location.

He has done a pretty damn good job finding 3 star gems from CA and TX. He is also active in the CA JUCO ranks. Exactly what Nebraska needs.

The only bad part is he will be 62 when next season starts. He'll be there 5 seasons max IMO.

A lot of people are underrating Riley. Does anyone realize how tough it is to win in Corvalis? What is Oregon State's winning percentage in its history? Bad. And it's even more difficult with Oregon dominating and the difference in facilities.

s a Nebraska fan, I am shocked, maddened, disappointed, and literally numb. We just fired a guy for not winning a conference title in 7 years. This guy hasn't won one in his 14 years at OSU. What a fricking joke. I'm sure they got a bargain deal. Any faith I had in Eichorst has been lost.

Who else wants to take the Nebraska job?

Take a chance on Frost who literally has accomplished nothing?

Keep Bo?

It's OSU. OSU was never gonna win the conference. Ever. No matter if Nick Saban was the coach.
