FWIW, he did a great job of turning around SJSU several years ago.

When UK hired Mark Stoops, MacIntyre was my #1 choice, even over Butch Jones (who told UK thanks but no thanks).

He has Colorado on the right track and is a very good HC.

Do you have any idea how bad CU was before he got there?

Absolute homerun in my opinion. Would be very jealous of LSU unless Gus finally turns this around.

No way...this guy is not ready for primetime. Not close, actually.

He still may get FIRED at CU at the end of this year. It was very close at the end of last year. Instead, Rick George forced him to fire staff members and forced him to bring in a new "Co" offensive coordinator. Rick George then hired Leavitt at DC. Mac did not.

The major knock on Mac is that he has no ability to recruit...personally or through staff. He cannot close. And, he's too loyal to really crappy, non-recruiting assistants.

Completely honest here...die hard CU fans would laugh hysterically at the notion of getting rid of Miles for Mac.

Which is more impressive?

His 3-25 PAC record at Colorado.

Or his failure to win more than 4 games in a season so far.

This makes me sad. Colorado could be a destination job if the university allowed it to be.

Remove recruiting restrictions, put some money into the program and you've got a legitimate Pac-12 school that has its own recruiting real estate in a naturally beautiful environment.

Shhh don't inform people of those facts.

He obviously inherited a dumpster fire but he is 3-25 in conference play. I repeat 3-25 in conference play.

If I had to rate the PAC 12 coaches he'd be #12, probably even behind Clay Helton. Other than Helton there's nobody in the PAC who's even close to as bad of a coach as Macintrye is. Not sure who the 10th best coach in the PAC is but they're far better than Helton and Macintrye is.

Boulder, Colorado Tiger here. That would be a BIG, RESOUNDING NOOOOO! Mac has done okay here, but he is not a recruiter - Colorado doesn't have the talent Louisiana has, but he hasn't even been able to convince 3-star talent to stay here.

He may one day be ready for an SEC HC gig, but not yet. LSU needs someone who can hit the ground running with the talent we have in place now.

MacIntyre is not it. PASS!

The assumption is that he's worthy of an interview IF the team wins big this year.

Defensive coach. I like him but would prefer an offensive minded guy.

Replacing Miles with Mcintrye would go down as one of world history's worst and most comical blunders.

This would probably be a worse move than making Orgeron permanent head coach. At least Orgeron's 3-21 conference record came against SEC competition.

That's the problem with Mac. They did remove the restrictions. And they did put a boatload of money in there with awesome new facilities.

He's just not a recruiter. Not even a little bit.

I did not know that.

While I'm sure the man would have boatloads of talent at LSU, if he's not a recruiter, he's not going to succeed in the SEC.

I realize that this is just superstitious but, the connection at Colorado is just too weird to me. Jerry DiNardo and Les Miles were both on staff there in their heyday. Having a third coach from that coaching tree would concern me.

Both Miles and DiNardo ultimately failed because of their loyalty to their staff.

Lets see how this year plays out.

3-1 is a great start at Colorado, but if they close out 1-8 obviously no

we have a whole season to figure this out.

Well that's just not true. He wouldn't have been able to hire Jim Leavitt as DC if that was the case.

They've had a huge push to improve facilities under him and the current AD.

He had to shift the recruiting base from Texas to Cali which takes time to build the needed relationships. Plus they are only just now emerging from the stink of being known as Rape U from when they were having big problems on campus in the early 2000s.
