re: Mike McIntyre of Colorado is worthy of an LSU interview

I'm a former nine year CU season ticket holder and a fan of the program. I know the lay of the land in Boulder. I follow the program. And I have an entirely different opinion than your friends.
Everybody who understands what has happened at CU since Barnett left knows the issues they have. They just have so many roadblocks since that administration has basically de-emphasized football and they have no real in-state recruiting base (four 2017 Colorado guys are 4 stars and that's a good year) and have to rely on California and Texas kids. But based on early 2017 recruiting results, they are starting to turn that around. I just heard Haubert and Luginbill gushing that they were fourth best in the PAC-10 and were finally getting four star guys. So I'm seeing him turning that around.
I'm a thirty year CU-fan (admittedly not a die-hard) and I'm not laughing hysterically. I think McIntyre is going to get a "proper" job with legitimate resources and win big in a power five conference. He certainly is worthy of an interview and respect.
That said, he's obviously not near the top of any LSU list.

no laughing matter...it's absolutely true. Rick George does not like him and knows he can't recruit. Rick George went out and hired the DC. That's insane.
He has absolutely no coaching tree to draw from. And CU's recruiting for 2017 is laughably bad.

I can only assume you have an axe to grind at this point. They have 20 early recruits, 4 four star guys and 3 in the ESPN top 300.By CU standards that is impressive and by Pac-10 standards that is competitive (4th best in conference for 2017 according to Luginbill). Impressive enough that they are talking about it on recruiting shows where they have not been mentioned in years. Your derision and ridicule does not correspond with the facts. Not that I expect that to deter you. Knock yourself out.

They have a horrible recruiting class for those of us who know what CU needs. They are losing 900 pounds of DT and have absolutely no one behind these guys. Jeffcoat is part of the problem with recruiting. CU doesn't have a single player at the DT spot on the commit list. DT and LB are the absolute necessity spots for this class--they have a single LB. That's it.
no axe to grind here...long time ticket holder and alum. I just have the ability to look below the surface to see the truth.

I'm guessing 4-1 and first place in the division and breaking into the top 25 for the first time in eleven years is putting you in a pretty sour mood. Do they fire him now, or wait a week? Just wondering...

The Colorado football team continues to play high-caliber football, and people are starting to notice.
On Sunday, the Buffaloes entered the Top 25 national rankings for the first time in 11 years, landing at No. 21 in the Associated Press poll and No. 23 in the Amway Coaches' poll.
This is the first time CU has been ranked since Nov. 6, 2005, when it was No. 22 in the AP and No. 21 in the coaches poll. Six days later, the Buffs lost at Iowa State to spark a 10-game losing streak.
Since then, the Buffs have had four different head coaches (including an interim coach), changed conferences and endured 10 consecutive losing seasons. CU's string of eight consecutive seasons without a bowl berth is the longest among Power 5 conference teams.
The Buffs (4-1, 2-0 Pac-12) are off to a great start this season, however, and Sunday's return to the Top 25 is further evidence that the tide is turning in Boulder. At No. 21, the Buffs have their highest AP ranking since Sept. 7, 2003, when they were at No.17.
"It's amazing right now; 4-1," said junior receiver Shay Fields, who endured 2-10 and 4-9 seasons his first two seasons at CU. "We still have some great things to do in the future, but just cherish the moment right now."
The Buffs routed Oregon State 47-6 on Saturday and sit alone atop the Pac-12 South division. They have won back-to-back conference games for the first time since joining the Pac-12 in 2011.

No idea why you'd want to leave Boulder, CO for Baton Rouge.

I did. And the answer is easy. Lead-based paint chip ingestion and repeated head blows.

top five program, incredible traditions, great salary, best conference, great recruiting base, passionate fan support, full admin support, non-sjw environment (macintyre is conservative), southern roots (macintyre is from the south)

imo, macintyre ends up at auburn if they can malzahn.

That's actually a very good fit. You might be on to something.

Any word yet on which date McIntyre is going to be fired? It seems like now would be a good time considering they are only 6-2, ranked in the polls, just beat Stanford and are in first place in the Pac 12 South. Will it be before the bowl game or after? Or maybe they could do it after CU pulls in it's first top 25 recruiting class in a decade.

Not at the top of my list, but definitely worth a look.

Coached under Bill Parcels and David Cutcliffe.

All true, wouldn't hate it (though likely too green for LSUs taste),

So a month later Colorado is 8-2 and ranked #10 in the playoffs. With Herman looking to go to Texas, how does everyone feel about McIntyre now? The job he has done in his coaching stops has been impressive.

Would be in favor of McIntyre over fedora.
