If Harbough is indeed gone. It's probably too late for a homerun hire.

Is there a capable assistant on their staff? They might just hire from within.

Andy Staples pod said Kleiman from K State would fit Michigan like a glove

It's Michigan. They could steal a hot name from a tier 2/3 program at any time of year most likely.

I do think they go with an affirmative action hire.

They need a Michigan man, they need Leslie Edwin Miles.

I know you’re kidding, but getting NMSU to 7 wins in year one was fricking impressive. That program has been bottom 10 in the FBS for most of the last decade and had a weak roster and a difficult schedule as an independent. He’s a damn good coach. Not a fit a Michigan, especially with the past health issues, but still good.

That would probably be a good hire for Michigan.

If I were TCU, I’d be a little nervous. Michigan could open a big bag to make a splash hire like nabbing Dykes after losing to him in the playoffs. TCU is set up well in a conference that’s about to get weaker, but Michigan will always be a more attractive program with a lot more money and in a better conference.

Kill also did pretty well at Minnesota before he got sick (maybe a heart attack?).

I like the idea of the KSU coach. He has been excellent at KSU and NDSU. I also like Campbell despite the bad season.

I think his issues were due to epilepsy and associated seizures. The stress of the job was making his condition worse.

Evidently he got better treatment before going back to coaching as an assistant. I was surprised that he took a head coaching job again, but am glad to see him succeeding.

He maybe happy to stay at a smaller program where the stress and pressure aren’t as bad. He could be a king at NMSU just getting them to a bowl game most years.

He'd definitely rationalize and attempt to sell the story line.
