Nah, Dykes is a Texas guy who would be glad to settle at TCU for the long-term. They kept Gary Patterson well-compensated and happy enough to stay for 20 years.

I'm obviously not comparing Cal as a program to Michigan, but Dykes was a fish out of water in Berkeley, and he was looking for jobs back in the south only a couple years after being there. Cal's AD even remarked that Sonny never fully committed himself to the job. Ann Arbor would be another terrible fit for him.

I didn’t say I thought Dykes would leave. I just think Michigan could make a run at him and they do have advantages that TCU just can’t match. But those advantages aren’t everything to everybody.
