Southern Miss should march out all the fired coaches - Kelly, Napier, Freeze, Stoops, Teatboss - like an old-school slave auction. They can hold up signs with their payout, showing how much coaching they can buy for free.

No buying limit. If you wanna purchase eight years of Kelly and four years of Napier, go for it.

I could see that argument. I mean, are you really set up better for success at Cal than those 2 places?

Huff is a hoe too. That was the entire issue at Marshall is that he flirted with every possible job he could, every single offseason and the administration got tired of it.

He won’t be at Memphis long

Well duh. G6 schools are stepping stone jobs. Not a “I’m going to retire here” type of job.

What a dumbass take. These are stepping-stone jobs. If you are one of these programs and you choose to hire a coach who clearly has aspirations of coaching at the highest level, then expect them to not stick around long if they succeed.

If Marshall or USM wants someone who will stay there for 10+ years without entertaining bigger jobs then they need to hire a bum who has zero aspiration to advance further.

Don't get mad at the coach you hired because he wants to progress his career.

The AAC has really closed the gap with the ACC the last couple of years. With FSU currently spinning their wheels, the top of the AAC is just as good as the top teams in the ACC except Miami.

Yea, would you rather coach Memphis or Boston College?

I agree. I went to a few Southern Miss games this season at The Rock. Very little fan support, it was sad

Yes!

25 years ago, these were probably similar jobs. Since then they have gone in different directions.

20 years ago Southern Miss was a top non BCS/power job. IDK what happened since then.

Starting to seem that way. Sigh...
