Matt Moscona has been saying that for weeks

I don't know shite about Richards. How would y’all feel if he were picked?
On one hand I, and I imagine all of us here, are getting a little wary of USCw pipelines/connections.

On the other hand, his strong suit [supposedly] is game planning and communication. Which was Aranda's strongest traits too. And, to me anyway, communication/instruction was the #1 source for the defensive failures this year. Confusion and bad pre-snap recognition is mostly a coaching issue. So it appears he addresses the overriding issues on hand.

Busch is gone and that would give us Richard AND Raymond for DBs. That's a helluva a pair.

Back to the negatives...
It seems Richard has two big ones that worries me. They stem from his time at the Cowboys...

1. Has a penchant for wanting or relying too much on physical measurables and not net results. Firstly, if you even lean this way in CFB you will forever struggle because you will never have "your players".

2. Doesn't really seem to adapt too much. He runs his 1-high and that's it. On the front 4+1 he's adaptable. But the back 5+1 he is not.

If you put 1 & 2 together it sounds an awful like Bo. Or even Chavis.

The idea that he might struggle with making use of your players strengths, as required in CFB, scares the hell out of me. That's where many NFL guys struggle. In the NFL you get the guys to run your system. In CFB you run the system your guys fit.

We had better be a lot further along than in a search at this point.

Hell, Texas fired a coach that thought he was being retained and hired a home run in a matter of hours.

Cool. God forbid the selection be solely based on merit and a bonus if that candidate should happen to be a minority.

There is absolutely no reason to be in a hurry. 2021 recruiting except for the transfer portal is all but over and I'd rather them do 3 each 5 hrs Q&A interviews with 5 different coaches than pick a hot name or even worse pick a name off of pedigree just to find out their system would work against Bill Parcell's NY Giants but not worth a shite against 2021 Alabama.

I believe right now it's Rich-urd. But if he takes job in South Louisiana, he becomes Ree-shard by default.

Given the culture of quitters and the "I'm too good for this shite" mentality that's infected LSU, I don't think hes the right guy to rally the players around the program.

I'm tired of this point.

This is fricking idiotic.

I don't think LSU needs a guy who has been fired twice in four years.

I'm tired of selfish quitters who think their brand is too special to play a football game. You don't fix that shite by hiring a coach who thinks he's too special to take a job he was just fired from.
