Who in the hell would want that midwit as their HC after watching the Pac 12 Championship game Friday night? Utah gutted that team.

As he steps off the plane... "welcome to the suck"

"Oh, and we forgot to fire Manny... we'll do it tomorrow. Cocktails?"

That's incredible.

I understand that's his home, but wow.

I had the same thought.

They hire a guy before the current head coach is even fired and on top of that, they make that hire before they hire a new AD which they're still trying to get.

I'd be leery of accepting that job when the search is all over the place. Seems like he had a better thing at Oregon but I guess something convinced him.

It sure doesn't seem like it was the efficiency of the coaching search though.

Dumb move. Cristobal has a long term deal if he wanted it in Eugene. Oregon was not terribly unhappy with him even with losing to Utah twice at the end of the season. Miami ain't The U no more and it is doubtful that Saban could fix it. The potential is greater with the Ducks....however so much for Phil Knight throwing money to keep him, so that is telling.

However, Manny Diaz is a good DC. Always out of his league as a major college coach.

Not sure I understand wanting to work for people who are handling Diaz the way they are. It doesn’t imply any sort of institutional competence.

Are they trying to be the first ever team to have co-head coaches?
