Luke Fickle and Wisc?

According to Thamel at ESPN, Wisky has made a huge push for Fickle. What happened to Leonard?
I think he would be a home run hire there, but after Widc got bowl eligible everyone thought he sewed up the position.

It's spelled Leonhard.
While I think Jimmy is great, I would be 100% behind them hiring Fickle.
I'm wary of the UW way of seemingly always looking to alumni first when jobs open, versus going and getting the best guy.
*The best guy would be Urbs. Fickle is pretty good though.

Fickell is a good hire by Wisconsin. Seems like the OSU ship has sailed for him at this point.

Being reported this was basically a done deal on Friday.
BOR meeting this afternoon to approve new coach's contract.
I don't see them scheduling an emergency meeting on Sunday afternoon to do a contract for Leonhard as he's already in house. Could easily be done tomorrow.

This would be a homerun hire for Wisconsin. They still have to know it's only inevitable that he leaves for Ohio State whenever that job opens up.
But I figure they don't care if he could get them to the 12-team playoff a couple of times.

Hopefully the B10 gets more competitive with the Rhule and Fickell hires. These are some impressive hires, well done.

There's a few steps remaining for this deal to come together, per sources. It's expected to be finalized within the next 24 hours. All candidates, including interim coach Jim Leonhard, have been told they're not getting the job.

Source close to #Wisconsin football program confirmed that #Badgers will name Cincinnati’s Luke Fickell as head coach and plan to announce it later today.

Wasn't the Badger's defense getting gashed this year or was it lack of recruiting from PC? Then again, anyone would be better than Joe Barry.
