The problem with your theory is that if it wasn't for Freeman wanting to be close to home and Nielsen getting stuck in contract issues we would already have our coach.
Have you talked to them? What makes all this definitive. Nobody is going to say “I don’t want to work for you.” directly.
Hell, when I’ve turned down jobs before because I didn’t want to work for the certain people. I gave them other excuses.
As much as you want to neg my conclusion, you have even less proof. Just public reports.

This would be a really shitty arse hire

Woody wants a black coach. This is confirmed. They would go white if it was a perfect fit like RN. But woody is SJW and wants a minority hire.
Another Ponamsky narrative to protect O? Woody’s major HC hires were Jimbo, Buzz Peterson, and Chris Petersen. Not too woke there.

Coach 0 and Derek are gauging if this hire is ok via Internet. No doubt in my mind. If this is the hire, those two losers should have bags packed for the upcoming firing. What a got damn moron we have in charge. I don’t even know what to say anymore. What a joke we’ve become. I’d rather them give CR a shot, which I’m not a fan of over this shite. 0 is a bum. No one wants to hitch their family to this shite.

You said something that you could not provide one link, one name, one scenario to back it up. It's your OPINION and that's fine. My point was you shouldn't be saying it like it's a fact.
Me referencing actual sports writers and insiders somehow is less proof than you, who didn't provide anything but your opinion.

Do you really think that a public report would be “no I don’t want to work for X?” When have you heard that? You have your personal reasons and then your public reasons.
LSU the program isn’t the problem. So what is it bud? Unless you just believe the program has stank on it.
If O has all these choices, why he fricking around with a DB coach from Minnesota.

If they had no respect for O and never intended to take the job then why were they flying here to interview and negotiating contracts with LSU?
I mean this is just laughable at this point. You can't produce anything to back up your claims yet you're still arguing that your opinion is a fact. That's an attorney for you.

If Aranda like him, how come he’s not coaching at Baylor?

I mean it is possible for aranda to like more then 1 guy. I have zero idea of aranda really did give a positive recommendation. But his current dc is a more experienced coach which fits since he is a brand new hc.

I think his point is more about the fact it is redundant and we are already short on coaching spots as it is. It would make more sense for your DC to be a LB or DL coach to kill two birds with one stone.
We're hiring 3 defensive coaches. So if the DC doesn't coach DBs, we are hiring a safeties coach. Sorry to bust the Russ Callaway bubble.

I wonder if he called Aranda to ask him who he should hire for the DC,
Instead of "run Luke, run" it's "hire him Ed, hire him".
This is very likely an Aranda recommendation. In fact, he may have approached us on Aranda's rec and we are interviewing because he threw his hat in.
As another poster said, this might also be for S coach. Also on Aranda's rec; he was in the running for ND DB coach. I questioned the need and efficacy of having a split DB coaching system at any rate. Apparently I'm dumb *shrugs*
Maybe Raymond IS getting promoted and he's the position coach replacement.
Maybe Jones is misdirection.
Maybe there's someone else traveling with him.
Let the interview happen. Because Aranda did feed his name, they have been in contact, LSU liked what he had to say, and Jones requested an interview. At worst Woodward is thinking he might find his S coach. At best he surprises them in the interview and they move ahead.

Bro shut up Ryan Neilsen would be our coach right now if Derek P would’ve did his due diligence

Interesting stats:
2018: Bengals were dead last on passing defense.
2019: Improved to a whopping 21st in passing defense.
Minnesota was 15th in 2019 in passing defense. Jones shows up: 25th in 2020.

I don't have an opinion on Callaway one way or the other but is it confirmed he will no longer be an on-field coach? Is he still on the lsu staff as an analyst?
Just a confusing situation when multiple reports were made that he will have an on-field position (made it sound like it was already done) and now it appears that's not going to happen but no other actual news has been said about it.

Then they’re even more clueless than I thought. How else could DB coach for a bad defense go over?

Judging by the up and down votes, I take it this isn’t good
