If Lane ends up at LSU, I think we finally have a true #1 rival for the first time since Tulane ages ago.

I already believe Ole Miss is our biggest rival and vice versa, but this would seal the deal.

Ole Miss's rival will always be State.

Disagree. Large majority of Ole Miss fans I know (I have a ton of Ole Miss friends) say it’s LSU.

As I tell everyone whoever asks the question "Who is LSU's rival?"

We dont have a rival...we hate everyone.

(I live in Houston...I get asked this a good bit.)

And LSU. You can have more than one. LSU has several. Don’t know why some are so resistant to that idea.

Ole Miss will always have Mississippi State.

Our natural rival will always be Tulane, even though we rarely see them anymore.

And Bama's rival will always be Auburn, but look at how heated the LSU-Bama rivalry became when Saban went to Tuscaloosa.

Hell hath no fury like an SEC fanbase scorned

Hopefully this new rivalry is just as lopsided when it comes to the coach owning his former team

Do y’all really not know that LSU and Ole Miss were fairly big rivals back in the day - 1950’s and 60’s. It was a nationally prominent rivalry.

I have family on both sides that went to both LSU and Ole Miss and Ole Miss fans always say that they hate LSU more than State....

Yes of course, but was it a true #1 rival? I feel like there’s no way around it if he comes to LSU.

Nope. Too one sided. We would have to win some for it to be a “rival”

When it comes to rivalries, Ol' Miss doesn't know who LSU is.

If the average Ol' Miss fan aas given the choice of losing once to State but you get 10 years of wins against LSU they would take the opposite every time.

Ole Miss is just the next game on the schedule. Not our rival. Maybe in their minds…

Why limit your hate to one when you can just hate everybody.

From what I gather, LSU is the team Ole Miss fans want to beat, but State is the team they don't want to lose to.

I know that kinda doesn't make sense if you think about it too hard but those are the vibes
