They should have just let Lane coach. Good grief.

but but but he will recruit for LSU... as if he isn't going to do that anyways.

Further proof they were acting strictly on emotion with Lane on the way out

I know OM is going to be pissed at us for quite some time, but Lane wants to do what he can to help the players through the post season. Lending coach's to a rival school that you have under contract is unheard of.

Ole Miss wants to retain Weis, according to their site. They will try to convince him to stay post playoff.

We’ll see. A backup for both schools would be John David Baker — Kiffin worked with him at Ole Miss

I think it's extremely unlikely Ole Miss retains Weis. We are interviewing JDB though.

Pretty sure all of these coaches are under contract with Ole Miss still. They've agreed to terms with LSU but haven't signed any official paperwork. Otherwise I don't think this would be legal.

So why didn’t they just let Lane coach?

Because their AD is a hypocrite who was butthurt that Kiffin wanted to leave but is perfectly fine with all of his assistants who are also leaving staying on to coach the playoff.

From what I've seen in a couple of threads people have said these coaches have signed with us. I have not seen any contracts though. And I get the legal gray zone here. Maybe this is considered a rental.

Ole Miss could not be looking for a head coach or have head coach questions when the portal open in January. That's why Lane couldn't stay. We will likely have most of our new staff filled out by then.

Weis would owe LSU 300% of his contract if he leaves LSU before March 2026 per Wilson Alexander

you were acting like we are in a bidding war for that man. He's already LSU's offensive coordinator…. there's no we'll see.

fricking pathetic. All that talk of “if you’re going with Lane then go” was nothing but hot air.

Ole Miss going to LSU on bent knees for help is actually hilarious though. What a beta program.

Would you let your wife stay through Christmas if you knew she’s with someone else?
but you’re basically letting your wife’s sister (the offensive staff) who’s also cheating stay with her husband through Christmas.

Yeah, let’s see if any of the playoff game announcers/analysts make mention of all these LSU villain coaches, except Kiffin, being loaned back to OM for the playoffs.

I think that’s why Lane is telling them it’s ok, oh and while you’re there. Tell the players to hit the portal to come to LSU

If Ole Miss wins it all, does Kiffin get credit for a CFB Championship?
