We didn’t dodge a bullet, we didn’t ever offer Jimbo that absurd sum of money. The entire SEC and national sports media was geared up to shite on us for paying $15MM+/year for a coach and now that we’re not they’re just making random numbers up with random coaches.
A&M just wants to feel like their coach is wanted and valuable, the guys who dropped the news on their end are the equivalent of Chicken and Jordy Culotta and used so many qualifiers in their tweets (sources say, LSU was prepared to, etc.) it’s not even funny. Not really unbiased or uninvested parties

I think Woody viewed him and Brian Kelly evenly. With Jimbo you get someone that’s been at LSU, knows the SEC, and it was someone he was very familiar with and good friends with. I can see why he was leaning that way. He also wants to blow up that recruiting class they are bringing in I imagine. That said, I’m really glad that didn’t work out.

I don't believe it. Look at the sources McMurphy cited. If Jimbo really was offered 13 mil, why hasn't he gotten a raise? I don't care how good your class is when someone offers to double your salary you take it. Maybe he does love A&M but surely he would take that offer to his AD and get a raise.

Nobody can understand it. I get that they're homeboys and all but you have to put all that to the side and hire the best coach possible. And that's exactly what he did. I'm sure he talked to Jimbo and probably made him an offer. But he sure as hell didn't make that offer. Had that offer been made Jimbo would be the HC at LSU as we speak and the melt would still be happening.

There isn’t one. The A&M money folks told him to get Jimbo regardless of the cost. Woodward asked Jimbo if he would be interested early on in this process. He was never offered 15 million per year. That is a bullshite story.
