That may be laughable, but I wouldn’t be in favor of Jimbo at the current price and contract length, either.

You are quickly shooting up my favorite LSU posters list

Much of that was in place at LSU last year as well though so it isn't done until it's done.
The fact that everyone was on his case about it ALL season last year killed it before we had a shot. Our shot was keeping things on the DL in 2015 and Alleva royally fricked it up.

Texas am winning a natty? Lol, they haven't even won a division title in the sec and really haven't even come close. Texas am can have all the money in the world for their program, but it still doesn't change the fact that theyre in the same division as LSU, bama, and auburn. All of whom have much better football programs with much more history than the aggies do. It will be tough for them to overcome these programs, all in the same season, to have a chance to win a title, it just is. Texas am has to compete with texas and tcu withing their own state on top of this, a battle which they're losing and will continue to lose also. LSU poaches top talent out of texas every year and so does oklahoma. Texas am has to start beating these programs on a regular basis to actually compete with them, and money cant buy you wins...wins mean more than money to recruits, this is the problem AM will continue to have. They're a poor man's oregon.
Just like LSU, A&M will eventually hit the mark on one of these coaches.
I just have to say

TCU is not getting any better and we have rarely lost a recruit to them.
Texas is learning that Herman is not the guy.
on top of all that, we recruit well, usually top 10-15 nationally even in a bad year. If anything, our recruiting will only get better.

well..Our AD is committed to winning. He was the guy to get Chris Peterson out of Boise to Washington, something that Oregon and USC couldn't do. now look at Washington.

These kinds of posts make me wish that there were fan message boards pre 2000 that we could look back at.

the right coach accomplishes all of the above.
a poor man’s oregon?
you say they can’t win a natty, but compare them to a team that’s been in TWO national championship games in the last 8 years.

Hey FSU, Kentucky will give you Mark Stoops back, just say the word and he's yours.

Your AD is also very good friends with Jimbo Fisher.

Thank god he's an LSU alum. Mama will call him home soon enough just like Bear.

The law prevents you from moving up a meeting and signing Jimbo?
Yes, state law says we have to give 72 hours notice for a special called BOR meeting.
Texas Government Code Section 551.043:
quote:
Sec. 551.043. TIME AND ACCESSIBILITY OF NOTICE; GENERAL RULE.
a) The notice of a meeting of a governmental body must be posted in a place readily accessible to the general public at all times for at least 72 hours before the scheduled time of the meeting, except as provided by Sections 551.044-551.046.
The exceptions listed are due to emergencies, and hiring a new FB coach may be important in Texas but not to the level of an emergency.

Same thing. They're under the same law. Which BTW I edited my post to quote the source.
PS--NEVER EVER capitalize tsip.

While I don’t think it is probable or even guaranteed, all a team has to do is win 2 out of 3 of the SEC west games you mentioned (assuming you win your other games) to make the SEC championship. The SEC west champion has gotten the benefit of the doubt the last decade and a half, sans 2004. Again, I won’t believe it until I see it but I am not going to laugh off the premise. Heck, even ole miss and miss st have gotten that benefit of the doubt before letting it slip away in season. Just look at how over rated A&M gets before their annual November collapse. Imagine less of a collapse.

Just read some of the FSU message boards and Jimbo Fisher’s wife is not onboard on moving to College Station. She has been meeting with lawyers to keep her son in Tally with herself.
Take it for what it is worth.
