He is building a house custom in a place where probably no one else can afford the house besides the next HC and he may not want that exact house.

Makes sense he would want them to deal with that instead of eating a loss

I think one of the homes is under construction to be finished this year. Which was probably a big factor considering not many people in Normand can afford to buy it, and the ones who could would probably avoid it like the plague see Sabans house on Highland after he moved. It sat on the market for years.

Edit to add - There is probably a booster that has a house in LA already lined up worth more than 6million that USC lined up for LR and they will just eat the loss.
