And I do not see how any of this Kelly stuff is anything but a smokescreen. Every single pep rally here BK is talking about how much is means to be at ND growing up as an Irish Catholic on the East Coast and is credited as making ND relevant again for the first time since the 80s. He also openly talks about his faith and how that sets ND apart. In recent weeks, he’s publicly called any rumors with his name in it smokescreens and said he’s not leaving except for a $250 million dollar check. He bleeds Irish, is a much better cultural fit here, and has the team competing for playoffs every year already with recruiting recently picking up because of it (AND now huge ND NIL endorsements he can pitch to recruits).

Tl;dr- everything I’ve seen/heard from the man while being here tells me that he loves ND and is a way better cultural fit here than at LSU. He may be using LSU for leverage (upgrades needed at ND) but ND is a school that knows how to open a checkbook. He ain’t leavin’

That was years ago, before I ever got here (hence before I was an ND fan cuz geaux tigahs) so I actually have no idea what his comments were when all that happened. No one brings it up here anymore tho, literally only see it on the message boards on TD lol

Thank goodness! LSU cant be a destination where only 3 losses is considered a good season.

You can’t say he ain’t a good coach tho. With much inferior talent, he has as many losses the entire 4 years I’ve been here as LSU has this season alone

As an LSU alum and an ND fan, I don't see it either. Also, I've watched enough of Brian Kelly at ND, both on TV and in the stadium, to know that his offense is Les Miles-2. Don't want.

The opponenets have been inferior as well. But I agree with you, he is a better cultural fit at ND. You can keep him.

Yea we have an AD who has a problem with making up his mind so we consistently play the scape goat for other schools allowing them to snag solid coaches while we end up as a PR nightmare.

Maybe that's the case now / 2016 scared him a bit / he's been there so long that now it's turned into that for him. That was definitely NOT the case when I was at ND (2010-2014). He interviewed with the Eagles the day before the national championship and he never gave any indication he loved ND as anything more than a good job, unlike the way others like Weis, Holtz and Faust viewed it. It always appeared to me that it was much more like a Willingham/Devine relationship with ND for him between himself and the university.
