The fact that a program of Florida’s stature targeted him as its #1 choice and hired him is all anyone needs to know to recognize he’s a good coach.

You mean the program who hired McElwain, Muschamp and Mullen?

Maybe pump the brakes on Florida’s head coaching decisions.

Some of you are just clueless. Of course you would know better than UF’s AD. I bet you knew Mullen was going to flame out when everyone else thought it was a home run hire!

Napier will work out just fine at Florida. Him and Saban cherry picking LA is going to drive the LSU people nuts.

It’s not about what I know. It’s about what the Florida AD knows and his last 3 hires make Alleva look like a genius.

I’m not overly concerned about what the guy who hired Muschamp, McElwain and Mullen thinks of another coach.

I get it. But I also know every coach is different. Seems they’re due, right? Lol

I have questions about Napier too, and I never touted him as the #1 choice. But I do think he’s gotten a lot of hate from some that haven’t been honest, objective questions.

Only time will tell. I hope LSU plays UF in the SEC championship game every year - and LSU beats them every time. If you’re not a Tiger you’re Tiger bait.

Regardless if Kelly was the first option or if Riley was.

Riley has said USC is the only school he or his people had conversations with. LSU didn’t go after him.

Literally no one thought he was even in play. He is objectively a top 5 head coach in CFB. It is an amazing hire.

To be pissed that LSU didn't consider you in the same moment as Kelly is a little arrogant. Kelly has rebuilt ND and played in a Title Game and been to 2 CFP's without the athletes or depth that the other teams have had. To think you should be on the same level as Kelly is somebody that thinks too highly of himself.
I don't know if Napier is really all that mad or what. You got an amazing job at UF, be happy about that. Some of the reason he probably got it is because of the LSU talk and the noise around Napier and LSU.

End of his career? Dude is 60 yrs old and has at least, 5- 10 more years. Saban is the GOAT and he's 70 yrs old.

Well, by that logic Saban was at the end of his career when Bama hired him at the age of 57. If we get HALF of what Saban has done it's a grand slam.

Yes...Scott Woodward is the man, but, let's not kid ourselves.

10 years and $100 million (just take a look at the term sheet) is what REALLY got Brian Kelly to LSU.

That's what it took for us to lure away an elite-level coach from an elite-level job. And I am ok with that....
