Per Bruce Feldman
Larry porter announces his ol coach (john mcdonnel) and rb coach (sedrick irvin) aren't being brought back for 2011 season at memphis.

Seems like the perfect opportunity for both Miles and Stud.

Recruiting coordinators don't make good HCs.

Porter should have gone the route that Mullen went, and hire a bunch of guys with HC experience. It helped Mullen.

It's an interesting idea. If I remember correctly, Porter wanted to bring Stud with him last year.

I think people are quick to forget, if they knew at all, that Studrawa has not only OL coach experience, but OC experience at Bowling Green, having been promoted from OL coach under Urban Meyer to OC once Urban left.

I have no idea what kind of offense Porter wants to run, who his current OC is, etc., but in theory, Stud's experience could pay bigger dividends there.

student taught studs daughter last year, they were heading to memphis but les told stud he didnt have to leave, and yes he was offered the OC position, mike prices son is their current OC. Doubt memphis could match money and seemed to be stud was leaving because he felt pressure here, not sure that is the case now.

Just a few years ago he was helping out with NISH or Westgate in New Iberia, good to see him moving up.

There is no grey area next year for Stud. If he doesn't produce a top 3 SEC line next season, he's toast..and he may not have anything really nice to fall in his lap like the current Memphis opening presents.

First I hear of this.

Can you fill me in?

Corey and I were hs teammates, and I've kept in touch, but his number is at my office.

Why now and what capacity? Lateral or upward move?
