Wonder why he's not taking this opportunity to trash AU on social media then. Seems like the perfect time to say "They don't mint enough $ for me to go to Auburn". That would be just be Lane being Lane.
It's so weird how quiet he's being about it.
In the middle of his season? While negotiating an extension?
Freeze sure is quiet too. So is Grimes. Rhules is too. What kind of logic is this?

Curious who your third is. Definitely going to laugh if it’s who I think it is.
Also ignoring the wide gap between the top half and the bottom half. Some of us have seen Atlanta before.
You are still completely missing the point arguing semantics. So you will never understand what is actually happening.

Yes, these are all exactly the same as Grimes and Rhule are notorious online trolls.

Who is your third in the West? I want to know.
You’re missing the point of “4th in the West” has shown the ability to win championships. While “5h in the West” has not won any sort of championship in 60 years.

But 1 and 2 have had a lot more success than either and Auburn over OM helps him none to get back to the NFL. See you are missing the point. It isn't about which program is better. It is about what gets him the top level elite job or back the NFL.

The longer he sits quietly while people think he's jumping to Auburn, the more money he will make at Ole Miss.

Hey big angry, sorry you’re going to get left at the alter here and not get LK, but it’ll be ok

He has everything he needs to win at Auburn. He doesn’t at Ole Miss.
So you think the best thing he can do for his career is stay somewhere and wait at a place where he will always be the guy that “can’t win the big game” (people already saying this is a disqualification for the Auburn job)? Just so maybe 1-5 years the job he wants comes open and maybe they actually offer him the job?
Again you’re ignoring the wide gap between a Big 6 program and one like Ole Miss. it’s a significant step up. Also overestimating the gap between LSU/Auburn.
I’m not missing the point. You’re just way off on your evaluation of the programs. Which is why you’re scared to reveal “3rd place in the West”

It's A&M. Much more money and potential.
And no Auburn isn't at the same level of Bama, UGA, LSU, A&M, Texas, Ohio St, Michigan, USC.
They just aren't. You can think they are, but they aren't.
No need to go backwards for 2 years and rebuild a middle of the pack SEC program when a big program or NFL team will come calling in the next 3 years. It isn't complicated.

bro there is an absolute huge gap and its growing everyday.
bama, lsu, uga have ran away from the rest of the sec atleast when it comes to consistency and power on the national level
only UF and A&M could move into that group. UT and Auburn really have no chance imo unless they just start going full A&M with NIL.
honestly A&M will never do it either, those fricks are losers. Historically Auburn is run by winners, i just think it is going to be hard due to location. i may be wrong because auburn has a ton going for it with mega boosters etc but also cant seem to get out its own way with meddling bullshite.

Kiffin is down to 3 or 4 on MY list. He is an over rated flake IMO. He sure as hell won’t be leaving ME at the altar.
Thanks for caring.

He might be playing the long game but I dunno if Bama would want to go that route. I cant see them going from a completely calculated guy like Saban for 20 years to a young guy that trolls on twitter like a kid. I dont think the boosters can sit there and give him the current #1 job in college football.
Why leave for Auburn? As evidence in this thread, Auburn thinks way too highly of themselves. Theyre a middle tier sec job

Everyone assumes no one wants to follow him, but I'm also quite sure Kiffin has realized that taking over a stocked cupboard in Saban's machine worked quite well for Les Miles and to some extent his close buddy “O” The Rosy Finch Boyz, LLC.
If those two guys could win championships within 3-4 years, think of what his ego is probably telling him about his own chances.
Posted on 11/16/22 at 1:25 pm to paperwasp
Yea I dont get that theory either. You dont sit at Ole Miss for the next maybe 10 years for the guy after Saban to fail. Also, the chance might not ever come if the guy doesnt fail.
You want to follow Saban and keep the machine rolling.

What point? That he has a marginally better chance to win titles at Auburn than OM?
I literally explained that he doesn't care about that. If it isn't a top tier or NFL job or doesn't get him closer to that he doesn't care about anything else. Auburn doesn't fit for numerous reasons.
1 it kills of any chance at Bama.
2 Going 7-5 in 23 then 8-4 in 24 doesn't get him any closer to the NFL
3 The boosters at Auburn are a huge issue.
But all you can think about is that Auburn is better than OM so he will come 100000000%. You OM fans are dumb.
Posted on 11/16/22 at 1:47 pm to HottyToddy7
Point being you don’t know how to rank programs. A&M wasn’t the only problem in that list.
Since you talk to him all the time, might want to tell him he’s not getting an NFL HC job anytime soon. Especially sitting at Ole Miss waiting on one of these jobs to open up and then being interested.
Already went over this. A stupid made up point.
Going 9-3/10-2 at Ole Miss gets him no closer to any of his goals you’re saying.
Never said that. Good chance he doesn’t come but the reasons y’all list are made up BS to make yourselves feel better about the chances.

He also has Georgia breathing down his neck to the East there. I think Auburn folks really underestimate how big a deterrent that is for that job. You’re flanked by 2 absolute monsters within 3 hours of either side of you. And with as much as college football coaches already make, I don’t the difference between $8 million a year and $10 is worth it. Lane’s quality of life would drop in a way I don’t think $2 million a year and less job security would make up for imo.
I’m an LSU fan who started watching in the mid-late 80s—the Auburn rivalry has always been my favorite, and I have a tremendous amount of respect for the history of that program and know you can win there. But to me, the most important part of coaching hires—and for some reason people don’t really ever talk about it—is timing. And it doesn’t seem—to me—to be a good time for Lane (or anybody else who has a comparable gig right now) to take that job. It’s less attractive than it’s been since I started paying attention in 1986.
I also think the new SEC schedule with the addition of Texas and Oklahoma and the expansion of the playoffs to 12 teams is gonna change the calculus and probably benefit Auburn as much as any SEC team. So maybe a long-term guarantee to get that next coach through the limbo of the next few seasons does the trick. But I think Ole Miss will benefit as well and Lane, in particular, might want to wait that out in Oxford. You hired Cohen to make a big splash, and I think he might. But I think it will be a Rhule/Fickell/Freeze/maybe even Dabo kinda guy who is less worried about money and just thinks they’re tapped out where they (or unemployed) are and wants a new challenge. I don’t think it will be a guy with a current SEC job unless it’s one y’all don’t want (Stoops, Leach, Beamer, or somebody).
***I only throw Dabo in there because he’s from Alabama and I’ve seen his name mentioned once or twice on here. But mainly, he may see the writing on the wall with the complete implosion of the ACC and want a life raft. He’s about to go 12-1, win that conference, and even with all the benefit of the doubt equity he’s built up the last decade, be left out of the playoffs because the conference is such complete dog shite. He may coach there until he’s in diapers, but it wouldn’t shock me if he peaced out soon, either. ***
