If you don’t think Lane Kiffin is playing the long game to try and get the Alabama job you’re missing it. Alabama is the only program that he doesn’t heavily troll on social media. He, in fact, goes out of his way to complement much of what they do. He’s heavily complementary of Nick Saban, which goes along way in the eyes of the boosters. He openly attributes his newfound success as a head coach to what he learned from Nick Saban, and the University of Alabama. He smart, he’s playing the long game to get that job. Auburn is not happening…

ETA: not to mention the Gump Humper’s absolutely love him

This and the NFL. If it doesn't get him closer to chance at the Bama job after Saban or the NFL he doesn't really have a need for it. He can jump to both from OM and he knows it. He will listen in case someone gives him a Jimbo + contract but other than that, he has those 2 things on his mind and that's about it.

If Kiffin wanted to go back to the NFL he never would've went to Bama.

Daboll and Kiffin aren't comparable. Kiffin was an NFL head coach at like 31. Plus, he's the son of a legendary NFL DC. Again, Kiffin could have went back to the NFL after being head coach at USC and not looked back. Kiffin is part of the NFL fraternity = NFL job for life.

Kiffin has said only an idiot takes over after Saban.

He wants to take over after they fire the guy who took over after Saban.

What are you talking about? Daboll is the HC of the Giants. Kiffin going to work for Saban has no relevance on him wanting to work in the NFL again. It was the best job available and he learned a ton. Especially on how to run a program/ organization.

I believe Kiffin and Daboll aren't comparable in the sense of connections in the NFL. That's my point. As much as the NFL hires retreads plus guys who are the sons and grandsons of former NFL coaches Lane would have no problem getting an NFL job after being fired at USC.

Kiffin working for Saban meant he wanted to be a college coach. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

this is who my bama buddies want to replace saban.

it will be interesting to see. he has a good thing going at ole miss with relatively less pressure compared to the big SEC jobs. not sure he wants to deal with that again after USC. but these coaches are ultra competitive.

Can we get a full list of coaches that are waiting on the Alabama job and how long they’re willing to wait? Thanks in advance. Would rather not waste our time.

If YOU don’t know it is much simpler than that I can break it down for:

Whores LOVE to be pursued therefore they sleep with whoever pursues them.

Lane is nothing more than a CFB coaching whore. His track record shows exactly this.

Plain & simple.

Because he left Tenn for his dream job? What other example is there?

Ole Miss fans moving from the “we are the better program” to “Lane wants bama” is the weirdest flex I’ve seen from them yet.

Well, Bama wouldn’t be a lateral/downward move. Not really a flex; just reality in 2022.

Who said we were the better program? All we ever said was moving from 5th in the West to 4th in the West wasn't worth the jump to start over and removing his chance at getting his most sought after job. It just didn't make any sense. Still doesn't.

All you Auburn fans think your job is so great that there is no situation that any coach would stay at OM over Auburn and you are blind to what is actually happening. It isn't about money. It is about Lane's career path. It doesn't end at AU or OM. He has higher aspirations. Why moved to another stepping stone job when he doesn't need too?

Wonder why he's not taking this opportunity to trash AU on social media then. Seems like the perfect time to say "They don't mint enough $ for me to go to Auburn". That would be just be Lane being Lane.

It's so weird how quiet he's being about it.

4th in the West

Behind who?

Curious who your third is. Definitely going to laugh if it’s who I think it is.

Also ignoring the wide gap between the top half and the bottom half. Some of us have seen Atlanta before.
