We didnt fire him for that.
We were firing him anyways and we used that to negotiate the buyout
We dont even know if that was the violation tbh, ive heard he had a bad drinking problem

they were filed and later rescinded. maybe Bk didn't want his wife before a jury and media crowd just why that divorce was filed. just a guess.

EVERY party tries their darndest to protect themselves within the T&Cs of these contracts. It's part of the negotiations. Every contract is different.

And if he did worry about a morality clause he could nix or modify it with LSU's agreement before signing. These contracts go back and forth many many times between lawyers before the final is executed.

It doesn't matter whether it was a violation or not.
LSU lawyers took the position that it was a violation.
BK's lawyers took the initial position that it was not a violation.
LSU's lawyers obviously convinced BK's lawyers that taking a 50% haircut was worth not going through arbitrage to determine the extent of the violation.
Both parties agreed and here we are. LSU is happy and BK is happy.

If true, it was negotiated with both parties agreeing to the settlement.
Doesn’t seem like he is adverse to the negotiated amount or that LSU is withholding without his consent.
I think this would be an issue if he was disputing. If not, it’s nothing burger and the next coach can choose not to include said morality clause in contract.

When the word goes out that LSU weaseled out of a contract by enforcing bogus morals that's going to eliminate a lot of candidates.....even Kiffin who was known as a walking morals clause violation in years past
