..not just assemble a bunch of players that train for the combine for three years.

I hope these hires can continue to bring in top tier talent, but on a promise of personal and professional growth, and a chance to play for a university that will build life long bonds.

Foster a family environment and a culture of accountability. Our current team still has some of those guys, but the skill positions have been more about NFL development instead of team development.

I agree, hoping we can find a place in the middle.

The NFLSU thing is a double edged sword. It became a cherry on top of the Miles regime and leading into the O era it became the sole thing. Burrow brought back accountability in 18-19 and when he left the full NFLSU entitlement look-at-me culture set in with full force.

I've been saying that lsu needs an entire re branding.

If he makes good hires then we can win championships.

I know his message will work and he will clean it up in no time.

I think it's a balancing act. Yea, having those guys is great, but having them at the numbers that LSU did can also be detrimental. If you load up with all of them, you're completely reloading every 3 years. That was part of Miles' problem.

Without Ed O we don’t have 2019 either. Does that mean he shouldn’t have been canned?

Alabama wins more championships than anyone by far, and they never have players that hold out their JR seasons or stand on the sideline months after a slight sprain. They have as much pride competing for the University of Alabama as they do waiting for their names to be called in the draft.

We still have to recruit at a high level, but let’s go about it in a way that builds towards more than just the NFL. 2019 was full of senior leadership, one who just so happens to be leading an NFL franchise out of the dark ages in his second year.

The culture at LSU Football turned bad quickly…and Kelly has been charged with changing it. Not just on the field.

Notre Dame puts the fifth most players in the NFL behind bama, ohio state, lsu and uga

LSU didn’t have that problem either when they were winning. It’s not that LSU has more or less of those kinds of players, it’s that the coaching staff didn’t set the tone for continued success. Once that went away, the problems rose up.

Seeing that entire team drafted didn’t help

That’s pretty damn stupid dude. Everything had to come together for that season and he recruited the vast majority of those guys and got Burrow and Brady. To say 2019 still happens without the head coach that put it all together is extremely asinine.

Never really cared for the whole NFLSU stuff. I get why it got started but honestly it's the kind of thing you promote when you can't just promote the success of the program itself.
