If Lane has been gone, he’s had days/weeks to think about it. He put down an ultimatum and now that he’s here, he wants to let Lane coach but knows he will look weak. Lane holds the power and Keith is getting worked.

His LSU contract wouldn't count against the buyout? I thought that was universal with these buyouts.

Which is exactly why we can’t allow it to happen.

Yeah I’ve got bad news for you. Outside of some retarded talking heads on ESPN, no college football fan will blame Ole Miss when they lock him out of the facility the second he announces he’s leaving for a division rival.

That’s true. That’s what makes this whole thing crazy. Lane can sit tight and coach the playoffs and refuse to sign the extension. LSU can wait until the playoffs are over and hire Lane for about a $3 million fee if he leaves Ole Miss early. The Ole Miss has to find a coach in January. LSU could also get screwed if Lane changes his mind. Who blinks first? LOL, crazy times

If I was Carter, I'd tell Lane that if we are in Atlanta, you can coach that, but not in the playoffs.

I can’t blame Ole Miss… if our coach took another job, to a rival, I wouldn’t want them coaching us, possibly poaching guys in the process

He absolutely can unless OM tells him no. Its not LSU standing in the way.

Lsu cannot wait. No way we can let him coach for weeks and trust that he’ll be our next coach after the CFP.

It is very clear to me that Matt Moscano will be the first one to know what is actually going on. Not Chris low or Marty who is standing outside the damn office.

But what if he refuses to announce anything and refuses to sign the Ole Miss extension?

Disagree. If you’re out, you’re out.

They’re in the playoff. If they make it to Atlanta too, make the move when there’s a conference championship on the line because a national championship is on the line next.

Letting him coach the SECCG, but not the playoffs makes zero sense. Yes, it’s cool to win and all but it’s ultimately meaningless for the playoffs.

OM would be better to let the interim get their feet under them than let Lane coach it and then leave.

Not if all he did was tell OM he wasn’t signing an extension. Ole Miss 100% has to check with legal.
