re: Lol at Ole Miss Men's Basketball

0-14 in the 4th quarter. That's hard to do
How bitter lsu fans are about this is hilarious. Ed O admitted that your last national championship was bought and paid for and LSU has had zero penalty for cheating. And now some of their fans are saying ole Miss should be banned because a kid who had played 1 season of division 1 football was given an extra year
quote:

It took Lane 6 years to make a playoff at Ole Miss so we'll give him at least

Really? I've been told LSU has the best football program in the country. All that tradition, the most expensive roster, an offensive genius and the next Kirby smart at defensive coordinator and the expectation is less than that of ole miss who lost the only thing making them competitive? That seems off
quote:

So you're saying Pete has no excuse?

Correct, with what we returned and added on defense, this should be a very good unit. The expectation with Chambliss should be the playoff.

What about LSU. Most expensive roster, most expensive qb, defensive coordinator, offensive coordinator and 2nd highest paid coach, I'm assuming no excuses for lsu not to make the playoff correct?
quote:

You had a great offense and mediocre defense last year. The dude who built that defense is now running your team.

We invested a lot of money on offense and very little on defense. Bet our defensive budget for 2026 is twice what it was in 2025. Look at what Pete did with some talent in 2024
quote:

o everything there is a season, And rules exist for a reason. Though Chambliss may claim, The docs aren’t the same, So fairness must guide the decision. The man’s twenty-four, Show him the door, His time has run out, No room for a doubt, Ole Miss will have him no more.

He's 23. He would be 4 months older next season than when Joe burrow was a senior at LSU and won the heisman
quote:

Enjoy the last time OM football will be relevant for the foreseeable future.

Ole Miss could go winless in every major sport and my life will be just fine. Think this is something you Louisiana boys don't understand, there's more to life than college sports.
quote:

Her arguments are “he would stop breathing in his sleep when I watched him sleep” huh???

And “Ferris state pinky promised us he would get a medical redshirt, they just didn’t file the paperwork”. Aka TRUST ME BRO. I mean nevermind the fact that’s not how medical hardships work lol.

There's video coverage from the Ferris State championship game where the announcers mention his medical redshirt. Before he ever transferred, there was videotape of Trinidad saying he had a medical redshirt and 2 other media outlets said he had one. I don't think that was all because they believed in a year he'd be a heisman favorite with a $5M reason to lie and say he has one.
quote:

I don't, they usually seem to happen in cases where the player had a season ending injury. Any examples?

No I'll admit that's just my opinion and things I've heard but never confirmed. More along the lines of a rotational kind of player having an injury that they could come back from but it is decided by the player and the coaches that it benefits both parties more to get the medical redshirt, practice but not lose the year of eligibility. Now I think this was done more pre-NIL and transfers when coaches thought that's just an extra year they have that player. The West Virginia Qb this year is an example. Think Rich Rod wanted him to come back and play and knew he could but the kid decided he was better off sitting out the year for a medical redshirt and transferring.
quote:

I mean are you going to act like this isn’t a farce? Giving a dude another year for tonsillitis based on the testimony of an OM doctor, an OM coach decided by an OM judge? You really going to act like this isn’t a straight kangaroo court?

I think there have been a lot of medical redshirts granted where the medical condition did not actually impact whether or not said player would play. Do I agree with it no. I think the everyone should have 5 years to play up to 5 seasons and that's it. No additional redshirts, etc.. and I also believe college sports should be for kids up to 23 years of age. But if the NCAA is going to be giving players 7 and even 8 years of eligibility and showing the whole thing to be a farce, I'm not going to be bothered if my team actually benefits from the joke the NCAA is. This is the same organization that told Leo Lewis, we don't care how much money you took from Miss State or LSU, we won't punish your or them, just Ole Miss if they gave you money.
quote:

Are LSU fans required to agree with everything Lane says/does?

That has been the trend so far, can't blame me for thinking it was still the case.
Why are LSU fans arguing against this when it was their coach that got Tom Mars involved and has been on record (well social media) saying Trinidad should get another year.
quote:

Probably still have an OM student to testify as to the importance of Chambliss to the gameday experience, an OM frat bro to testify how much more “lit” parties are after Chambliss has a good game. Hell they’ll probably call up a booster to testify that Chambliss winning spirit will help the grove recover sooner.

You seem overly bothered by this. Will Whitson was granted a 7th year to play college football. Were you this agitated about that?
This should just end with the NCAA saying everyone gets 5 years of elgibility and that's it. No redshirts, etc... everyone gets 5 years and you can not play collegiately if you are 24 years old or older.
Topic about an Ole Miss QB and every post is from an LSU fan until this one. What a surprise.
quote:

I think he actually fits the culture perfectly, think of an LSU fan… now think of lane… matches up pretty well no matter what your thoughts are for both.

Not sure I agree with this, culturally I think Lane fits in better with a Miami. Kind of have that I'd rather look good and lose than look bad and win mentality. You could not have found someone who fit in better from a culture perspective for what LSU fans are than Ed O.
quote:

Tom Mars, you, and the OP are actual simpletons.

Tom Mars, I know you're a successful attorney that is the first call coaches, administrators, or collegiate athletes make with regard to legal matters, but the guy with the free time for almost 70K posts on the secrant called you a simpleton so I'm sure he's right.
LSU AD covering up abuse of women by athletes and now some blatant cheating of the nil system, when will it end.

A man like what? He was an Ole Miss legend in line for a statue in Oxford a few short month ago.

That was before he showed who he truly is. Now he's embracing his true villain identity and I'm starting to wonder if Desanto Rollins might have been on to something about ol Lane

O I know, we've been having to get rid of everything that is even questionably racist. If lane had sent that tweet as the coach of ole miss the entire university might have been shut down.

Fortunately for us, that coach and his questionable ethical and moral character is tied to LSU now. Good thing for him it's just all about the paychecks to players now, can't imagine how many of those kids would want to play for a man like that
Wonder if Kirby smart will come out saying tampering should be punished?
