Think they're wanting to put us in a position to be jumped for hosting if we beat Mississippi state or drop us all the way out if we lose

Where's RebelGator at? Curious to hear if he has any updates.

I’ve got a feeling alot of stories will come out about Lane once he leaves. I’m a nobody and I know some pretty fricked up stories about Lane. Most people who get to know him end up not liking him.

I'd imagine he's got a lot of skeletons in his closet that people of Oxford have kept quiet on.
Pressure is on. Potential 11-1 finish with a division 2 qb at little ole miss. Surely at lsu he'll go undefeated and play for a championship. Portal king don't need a year to rebuild.
He's trying to make it sound like players aren't loyal to the school or fans either so he shouldn't feel loyal to them.

If we keep Weiss, Joyner, Judge and Pete, im good. Obviously Sumrall or whoever we hire would have to be ok with that but I would think that's a great way to set the program up to continue to be good.

Those coaches, Sumrall at $7-$8m instead of $14M for Kane. Put those savings back into the rest of the staff and NIL. Boom, I'm all in on that.

Once Lane leaves, someone better tell the truth about Bentley. No more protecting lane or Kevin smith on that.

LSU better be the ones providing that security. If I'm KC I don't do anything different for that game than what I would do for The Citadel.

Notice how with Trinidad he said an extra year of college, didn't say we want him back here next year etc...

Wish someone would ask him, is your sole focus the last week the egg bowl or are you focused on other things we can't ask about.

I absolutely agree. Which is why I'm glad Florida fans are unreasonable about going after him.

Scott striklin will be burned at the stake if he hired Sumrall. He'd be a great hire for them but the resume is too much like Napier.

I do think that KC must have told him to quit trolling our fanbase unless he's 100% sure he's signing. That or he's seen all the negative comments about it and decided to stay away from twitter

Anyone else wondering if lane is using the lsu interest to soften the blow for ole miss fans if he goes to Florida? In his mind, he takes us to the playoffs and leaves for a team we'll only play every few years and no rivalry, fans will just be thankful it's not lsu. And sexton gets to frick with Landry for calling him out.

That guy graduated from the university of Florida. Lane really has damaged his reputation so much with this. At this point he may be best off taking an NFL job and saying that's why he couldn't sign the extension. Not sure anyone would hate on him for going to the nfl

Has Lane signed your school’s offer, and why would OM be anything more than a stepping stone? It always was. You guys need to come to terms with that. He was always leaving.

I keep hearing this but you do realize the main advantage lsu has is it's the only real game in town. If there was another SEC school located in Louisiana LSU would be exactly what ole Miss is. Prior to Saban, LSU was ole miss. One coach turned it around and set up the foundation for what lsu became. Brian Kelly was a top 10 coach in football and I wonder if he is glad he left notre dame? Maybe now since he's getting paid a lot of money by lsu to go golfing but other than that, bet he wishes he'd stayed.

LSU is an awesome job but it's still not at the level of a Bama, UGA or Ohio state.

The problem is that people didn’t expect Kelly to just sign the contract and run straight to the golf course all day. Multiple affairs, golfing all day, insanely idiotic management decisions…all Kelly had to do was give the effort he did at Cincinnati and early days at Notre Dame

Replace golf for fishing and trolling Twitter and maybe the affairs are with a younger demographic and you have ....

I was furious with KC after reading his statement but after taking some time, I remembered that he has done an incredible job since day 1 as athletic director at the university of Mississippi. The more I think about it, the more I realize that KC probably knows Lane about as well as anyone outside of his family. They have worked together for 6 years and by all accounts have a great relationship. It's not crazy to think they had a sincere conversation today and Lane told him he is truly torn at the moment and can't make a decision yet. We can get mad about it, but if you're Keith what do you do? In my opinion, lane is just stalling to get things finalized with Florida or lsu and he'd rather announce he's leaving after winning the egg bowl and on a dead weekend in Oxford. But Keith is the one talking to him and for all the "insiders" sharing what they've heard on Twitter or the rant, none of them have spoken with kiffin. I feel bad for Keith since I do think lane is going to hang him out to dry with the boosters and fans, but maybe Keith has more optimism than the rest of us and this is his call.

If Monte were here he'd be the one to point out to Lane having an AD you truly trust to have your back is hard to find, hopefully someone can remind him of that.

Giving him this type of money is no different than LSU giving BK all that money when they hired him. At least BK had actually taken a team to a natty though. Kiffin is a good coach but he isn’t worth anywhere near that kind of money. I don’t say so the record Kiffin has earned in his coaching career says so

Must be nice to be a bama fan and know if Deboer struggles you have kiffin whenever you want him. Bama might be the only school he'd actually stay at.

How fricking awkward are these practices going to be? What would make any player listen to what he's telling them to do. Same thing with the other coaches, have to figure some of them are pissed and want to beat the shite out of lane for the way he's handled this

Would give anything for Trinidad, lacy or Perkins to release a statement saying despite their coach only focused on himself and his own interests, our team is solely focused on finishing the season strong and making the playoff. We do have other coaches that are loyal to us. We will play hard for them, our school and our fans. #dontlikeorretweetthislane

Guys, it's just a very nice and classy move of Keith to give Lane an extra week to figure out if he wants to go Florida or LSU. Also, students won't be in Oxford Friday or Saturday so Lane can leave Oxford quietly and peacefully unlike when he left UT.

In all honesty, Keith better be pretty sure of this gamble or it's all on him now. The only way this works out well for Keith is we win this game and Kiffin announces he's staying and always planned to, but didn't want to jinx this game like last time. If we win and he leaves, you gave the guy going to coach our rival an extra week to recruit Lacy, etc... to LSU. And then the committee will penalize us by dropping us down to where we don't host or maybe don't make it at all. And, Sumrall might have already moved on. If we lose and he leaves, he has completely fricked us, which as the coach of LSU is probably a big part of his job description. From there, the program is the laughingstock of the country. You let your employee troll you for weeks and then screw you in the worst way possible. I don't know how the fans, boosters, players, or any coaches can actually respect you given the national embarrassment of that moment. Hope Keith knows what he's doing.
