Without a good father figure, you end up like Gifman.
Was he there when Dart won at Auburn? But you’re right, he never came back to Oxford. Shame he couldn’t stick around long enough for it.
Reverse sweep complete. Absolutely wild.
Everybody dresses as Hugh Freeze at various stages of massage.

Besides Auburn, who Lane was just about to leave us for until Landry showed off the PowerPoint skills.
He’s actually a State fan, so they’re just antisemitic and ISIS fans over there.
Alabama football is such a strong brand that people just associate it with CFB. Roll tide is a meme that goes beyond just football circles. Enough to where people who have no connection with CFB at all recognize Alabama as “football”.

LSU doesn’t have that cultural pull. Top tier job, but just edged out by prestige.

Athletic Directors are known to make great decisions with other folks money. I guess all we can say is that Keith got the funding folks on board and that counts for something.

Honestly, I forgot Lebby. But he also didn’t have the same amount of experience that Pete does and with quality coaches. State is going to be cheaper on coaching salaries already, and I don’t believe a multi-year Saban disciple and known commodity within the program is going to have the same deal as what Lebby has produced. Coaching salaries have also wildly ballooned in 2 years, and I wish that wasn’t the case.

Look at Lane and what we were offering there. $11-$12 mil was reserved for multiple national title winners a few years ago. Now Lane has it after simply making the playoff. Cignetti was offered his deal for $11 mil before winning the conference title and for a one and done playoff appearance. It does seem like it’s the market.
It was well publicized by Texas fans when they were recruiting him and keeping him on roster and now well publicized by everyone dunking on them for doing it after this year.
It’s what Sam Pittman was making before being fired at Arky. I believe it may be like 1% more than Freeze at Auburn. Likely bottom of the SEC.

I simply disagree with your premise. He had a contract after 2022 with a buyout. If he didn’t agree with our demands in your plan, starting a search costs us and the boosters $60 million just to get him out the door. After that, you have to get boosters, who were just fine with winning a Peach Bowl and having a good time in ATL, to hit the eject button on that, fund a buyout, and then we’d need to find a coach who was sufficiently “loyal” who would be fine with walking in to an Ole Miss program who fired a winning coach because he wouldn’t limit his options for other employers. That’s essentially a wrap for football at Ole Miss.

So we’re not going to meet on this one. Is what it is.
At the very least, it was a failure in allocation of resources. They could’ve used some of that $7 mil for at least 1 good receiver and some O line help.
We’ll bring the food. What temp do you want your cold chicken tenders?
If we offered that kid $7 mil per year and he ended up looking like he did this year, I’d have a stroke.
