Why did he take a demotion at LSU?

Can you point to the place on the doll where LSU touched you?

Because he was demoted at Miami first.

And not blitzing got us beat last year because the QB had ages to pick us apart. Think before you post.

It was a tradeoff, and probably would have failed either way.

We don’t have any money which is why Matt House is still here. They are hoping he finds an NFL job so we wouldn’t have to pay the buyout.

We have one of the highest paid staffs in college football. Money is not an issue. That said, why the frick would you light $1-2 mil on fire for very little to no benefit when you can wait 2-3 weeks and pay much less to nothing?

Spending other people’s money. Let’s at least spend it on something worthwhile- like a new fricking DC.

He was fired. But look at Miami afterwards and Baker wasn't the problem.

When your secondary lacks enough players or has too many inexperienced players like we do blitzing will get you beat. Man that's defense 101. Think before you post

What’s the result when you don’t blitz and play your DB’s 10 yards off the line?

I wonder if there has ever been a case study of that with statistical backup in a tough conference like the SEC.

What the frick are you even talking about? Are you reading the thread, or just replying out of context to random posts?

Apparently he had trouble learning in grade school.

Exactly!!! There are so many people on here that have no idea what they’re even looking at or how to fix the issues we have. Our secondary doesn’t lack enough players. We have some elite talent on this entire defense. You have to have all things come together at the same time to put out good results on game day.

We had so many issues come up this season. We had multiple guys get hurt, had multiple first year (in the system) players, we had our brand new DL coach go down, we had players freshly coming off of injuries who hadn’t played in a while, we had to play young guys when they weren’t expected to play, and we had to switch roles for players mid season.

Some of this is on the coaches but some of it was just plain bad luck and a result of having to build a quality team via the portal because we didn’t have developed guys who were ready. Some of this was expected, but a lot of it had to be fixed on the fly, which isn’t easy to do. After a season like that, you learn how to deal with those things and you are better prepared the next time.

You also go into the next season knowing what your current players are good at or not good at. You can mold your defense off of that information while also continuing to develop them in ways that will help that defenses style. That’s exactly why they want to recruit and retain, rather than having to complete a defense through the portal. You can add depth with a few players but you don’t want to have to recruit starters from the portal at every level of your defense.

We also don’t know what type of offense they will run next season. With the offensive depth we have, there are many ways we can go this season.

What is bothering me quite a bit is that our coaches thought we had really good depth at certain positions the last two years, who didn’t perform well on game day. So their judgement on how good we actually are during offseason workouts is pretty far off from reality.

You should have a good idea how you’ll perform during the season after watching these guys compete for so long. We haven’t been very good at that the last two years. Hopefully we learning and that will help to develop our players for the season. If you don’t know where you need to improve then it’s much harder to mold your team in the direction needed during a season. We need to be much better at self evaluation during the offseason. That’s where you build your team for the coming season. JMHO.

I swore some LSU fans were saying this season the team will be much better and win the SEC division again and even beat FSU, but that didn't turn out what LSU fans were expecting at the end of the regular season.
