So Napier is the nerdy girl waiting for us to invite her to the prom while we're angling for the head cheerleader.

In those movies it usually turns out the nerdy girl is really hot and and your perfect match and you didn't know it and the cheerleader is actually a horrible person.

Not sure if that's what you are implying though.

Napier holding out for LSU because the Cajuns stupidly paid him out of their own budget instead of the athletic fund so he'll get the milk the state for 75% of 2.5 mil if he hangs on for the LSU job then retires

Not even close to true.

Napier's new deal comes with a base salary of $400,000 per year but he will also receive a contingent premium benefit from the Ragin' Cajun Athletic Foundation of $1.6 million for his promotion and production of UL football, according to committee documents obtained by The Daily Advertiser.

He saw LSU go cheap and settle for O and was hoping/expecting that again. Unfortunately for him the big boys opened up the bank so his chances are way down he will get the LSU job.

I know Riley has been offered the job and has yet to reach back to Woodward since.

I know 100 percent though Riley is the top target for Woodward.

Wouldn’t you think if it is indeed Napier that the announcement would be sooner than later.

If true, also implies Napier has been told he is high up on the list and could be offered. I don’t think Napier would minimize other potential offers unless he felt LSU was headed in the right direction for him.

I mentioned in an other thread Aranda is happy at Baylor and what he is building over there. Woodward does not dislike Aranda. But LSU and Woodward feel to get Aranda they would have to pay him like a top 3 coach, and people in the LSU administration as well as Woodward don’t feel he is there just yet.

Not necessarily, he still owes ULL and his players to avoid the announcement through the Sun Belt Chanpionship.

Not ground breaking news you could say. But I am hearing Napier has talked with Woodward and has told him he is ready for the LSU job if offered and is his 1st choice. And he won’t take anything until Woodward makes his decision on the LSU job.

A couple teams interested at Napier and interviewing him potentially:

TCU for HC
Alabama (not much detail)
Texas Tech HC
Virginia Tech HC
Washington State HC

Napier has told Woodward this and his intentions, and apparently Woodward really likes how Napier is LSU first.

“Scott likes the fact he is guy that truly wants to be here”.

Im calling total BS! Of course he wants to be here, he'd crawl to Baton Rouge for this job! He's an idiot if he's not talking to anyone else! You mean to tell me he's not listening any offers at all! You'd only do that if you thought the LSU job was yours to turn down! New Flash It's Not!. He's not the top choice, He's not getting this job! No matter how much y'all want to wish it into existence. If any of those schools calls with an offer he needs to take it, News Flash Bama Is Not Calling!

Also total nonsense! You're saying that Napier is at the top of the list over Aranda because he'll come cheaper! Please Stop It! It won't be either one of them.

Napier is not number 1 on Woodward’s list.

Riley
Dabo (others are hearing Jimbo)

Then Napier. He is the 3rd option if the 2 big names fall through.

If accurate, that is what it would likely indicate.

He’s done an excellent job at Baylor and will be great wherever he goes. I’d prefer Dave over most of the options on the list.

This is almost like last time....If the two huge names on the list likely say no, well then I gotta go with O

Let's just ignore the huge fricking gap between those 2 names and Napier.

Tucker actually should be ahead of Napier too

Agree, but if Aranda wants top 3 money like Saban and O (what a joke that’s top 3) it’s probably too much.

Then again Aranda’s agent probably correctly claiming he was more the reason for 2019 natty and if we can pay O $9M his client is worth $9M too.
