I'm not glad it's O, but I am glad it's not Herman. I honestly don't see attraction as some do with him. OSU was and is Meyers team. Herman is Hugh Freeze 2.0. I'm not all giddy with the possibility of Kiffin as OC either. I think he single handily lost tha Natty to OSU with his game plan. Yes I know Herman was the Meyers OC for that game, don't care. If O wants a pro-style offense, then he needs to dig through the pros to find an OC.

I'm cool with it. Keep Aranda and get someone who can develop QBs and we'll be fine.

Just changed a small O to a capital O in my signature--also changed the date.

I'm damn happy. No coach in the country has been able to consistently beat Saban with bama's booster money. Orgeron's loose cannon style, recruiting, and motivational ability is our best bet for success in the crucial big games with bama.

Well it is pretty simple Alleva is the all-time worst AD in LSU history!!!

Count me in the "I am not happy with our HC hire!!!" Love Coach Oeaux to death but I don't think he is the best choice out there!

The only positive I see coming out of this is that Alleva will be fired within 2 years!!!!!

I am. Glad LSU did not grossly overpay
for Herman or Fisher. Orgeron is going to
surprise everybody.

I like CEO, he is not the knock it out of the park hire, but neither were the other 2.

This allows us to give him a chance, prove himself, save a but load of money in the meantime. This will never require us to lock him into a long term contract that we could regret.

Allows us to appease real fans, you know that who whole tiger bait thing you guys scream. If someone doesn't want to come here (recruit or coach), I'd rather do this with people that want to be here.

We can put in incentives galore into a short term contract, 2 yrs to see what happens, and if things don't go well you will be in position down the road for any of the other up and coming coaches that Texas won't force you into a 6 + million contract that ultimately is just as much of a gamble.

back to mediocrity.

Been there for years
. Yep. Way more often than not we have been at best an average program looking st our history. The exception was 2001-2007, 2011. Other than those years and 1958, LSU has been average at best.

This is such a sad qualifier. Ed O's success is dependent on him making home run coordinator hires? So what happens if he strikes out on his top choices (the LSU way) or he does hire them and they move on.

Nick Saban, Urban Meyer...frick even Les Miles. It doesn't matter who their coordinators are because you know what you're going to get from them regardless of staff hires. They continue to win independent of who is running things under them.

I love Les Miles but I could give you toss dive.

We basically following what we had with Les hire top assistants we are just getting discount on top role bc they aren't that valuable.
