Nebraska reporter says strong indication that Mickey could be next Nebraska HC. Whether this is due to player buy-in and his performance as interim or lack of success in Nebraska’s search I am not sure. But if he Mickey gets the job I’ll be happy for him and wish him success in the Big Ten

Agree. Similar to auburn hiring Cadillac. If they give the job to Mickey they must have struck out big time

Best of luck to him.

Wish him well but that's a terrible job at this point - they expect to compete for national championships, have zero in-state talent they can draw from, and last time they were relevant, none of the current players were alive.

his performance as interim

They are 2-8 under Joseph and have lost 5 straight. I guess you can argue they are playing "better" than under Frost, but I don't know how you sell a fanbase on a coach that will probably finish his year with 6 straight losses

Nebraska would happily take 2020 and 2021 if they got 2019 along with it.

Nebraska would happily take 2020 and 2021. Those LSU teams at least went .500

Nebraska needs to consider Jamey Chadwell. He has won big time at Coastal and would bring the Option back to Lincoln which would probably do well in the plodding and slow Big 10 West.

I wonder if Trev Alberts is the Nebraska version of Joe Alleva.

Ha, one of my cousins in lincoln said he heard the new name is Luke Fickell. Just text me that earlier tonight.

I dont know who he works for, but they always have a pile of tickets to the games every weekend. He said its been easier to get them lately.

They would be better off with Orgeron.

I think Fickell is waiting for Michigan or OSU. He could’ve had ND last year

Are people going to say this every time there’s an internal promotion? Is that what Lincoln Riley and Ryan Day were?

LSU fans thought he sucked as a WR coach.

Joseph was a coordinator?

Oh so like Dabo? WRs coach for years, straight to interim HC and then offered the gig?

If you can’t see the difference, then I can’t help you.

Riley and Day both replaced legendary coaches who retired with their programs on top.

Orgeron and Joseph were interim coaches when the head coach was fired for poor performance.

In the previous situation, it makes sense for continuity. In the latter, you generally want to clean house.
