Jordy, much like most of this board, has recency bias. He lives and dies performance by performance.
If Aranda thinks so highly of Jones he could have hired him at Baylor. Hell did he even interview him for the job?

Defense is not what I would ever be worried about with Aranda. I just would want him to run the type of offense that attracts the best QB’s. He seems to be doing pretty well at Baylor.

His DC is former Southeastern HC and UL DC Ron Roberts. Aranda was DC for him at Delta State and has called Roberts his mentor and has said his concepts came from Ron Roberts. Hard to see Aranda leaving Roberts behind.
Aranda does have some lesser ties to Daronte though.
