It's not really shifting...it seems like it to us because trolls are posting bullshite here. In reality, O has placed the administration in a tough spot and they don't have the balls to do the right thing.

This is so Louisiana that it is undeniable.

If so, I will probably have that same look of disbelief on my face as I did after Alleva's post-game presser after the aTm last year. My wife thought I was having a seizure. Kept asking me "what's wrong, are you ok?"

It was literally the same scene at my house! What made it worse was I was SO convinced that Miles was done and they were announcing he was gone! It was the equivalent of knowing you got the gift you wanted for Christmas only to open it and find out its a pair of socks.

Alleva fired Miles for not winning games he should have won and a consistently anemic offense. The offense has looked better under O, but not to an extreme degree. We have won games LSU should win so far since O has taken over, and I think a loss to Bama was already conceded in Allevas mind so no harm no foul. I'm sure Alleva also believes we will win the last 2 games convincingly, so no happy surprises there. Nothing so far this season in my opinion will sway Alleva to take the interim tag off Orgeron, and I'm sure they discussed this when Miles was fired. For all the wrong Alleva has done, I just seriously doubt that he told O if he did a good job he would be the permanent head coach at LSU. I believe LSU already has there guy. Is it Jimbo? Herman? Fedora? I don't know. But it's not Orgeron. But thank you O for saving the season for us die hards.

If so the good ole boy network is back in charge. This is the same horseshite that gave us Archer and Hallman. Forget business decisions, and decisions based on performance and resume. Hire bubba, he's a cool guy, he knows someone I grew up with.

Ultimately, it's not Alleva's decision. I'm fully convinced that LSU will do what LSU does and step on their dick.

After all that's happened since last year, you really think Alleva cares about criticism now?

His job likely hinges on this hire, so he absolutely has a choice.

that would exclude Herman.

I would think if they want someone with success at the highest level, they'd have to go after Carroll or Belichick.

I hope you are right. I was against those clamoring for Miles to be fired for the past few years mainly because I feared what Alleva would do. Miles just got so fricked up it had to be done.

I'm holding on to hope that Allevas showing some backbone with the miles firing this year, and standing up to Foley and Sankey is a positive sign.

Not defending Alleva:

HOWEVER, he has shocked me a bit this year. Particularly with how swiftly he pulled the plug on Miles, even though it should've been last year. I was shocked about how quickly O's interim staff fell into place, etc. I think we all will be pleasantly surprised this go around, and what I mean by that is that it won't be what the negatigers are expecting. I don't think it will be O, it may be Jimbo or someone else.

Couldn't agree more, it will be worse than when Miles replaced Saban!

No one said this job is easy, if Coach Oeaux gets the job for his immediate success LSU needs to win and be extremely relevant on a national stage!

No, he won't. As long as he hires a top flight OC who can light up the scoreboard, everybody will be happy.

The defense is already one of the best.

Totally agree. If Alleva hires Ogeron he should be fired immediately.

I agree.

With a team this loaded and experienced, O has only done what any merely competent coach should do.He has not wowed anyone out.

I am not here to debate Miles's long term legacy or his entire career, but the last 3 seasons or so, he was so settled in and institutionalized that the atmosphere was poisoned and now we think competent coaching is out-of-this world program building.

Alleva knows his job depends on this hire. I think he has the common sense to know when you have Jimbo Fisher on the hook, you don't get bogged down in incidentals. You pay the man what he wants.

I appreciate Coach O. But these local media types and apparently certain boosters remind me of the good ole boys before Emmert and Saban got here, when the job of head football coach at LSU was decided in a back room of Phil's Oyster Bar.
