Just looked it up mean age UH undergrads is 22.3
LSU is 21
Lots of part time students is not condusive for a game time party atmosphere

I'm not so sure about that. You never know who's going to be the next big thing in college football. And what if he stays and the team struggles next year without Greg Ward? If it were me, I'd jump on an offer from Texas or LSU. Neither of those schools are going to be offering up chump change.

A team that has never done anything is now in the top 5. id say its the best time ever for Houston fans.
And they've got to enjoy the ride while they can. there's no way Herman's going to stay at a 2nd tier school when the big boys come calling.

Houston has been the red headed step child going back to the old SWC days. They were looked at as trailer trash on the wrong side of the tracks, and the snobs at UT have always looked down their noses at them. Scandals rocked the program for a long time, too. There is a reason why every coach who has been successful there has left for greener pastures. It is & always will be a stepping stone program. Paying a HC $5M won't change the fact that the school has to give the athletic dept. upwards of $23M every yr just to keep it afloat.

My wife is a Houston alum. We can't talk football right now. She's pissed at me and doesn't want to lose Tom Herman.

There are for sure some UH alumni who are proud of their school but the reality is, most UH alumns commuted to school. It's not a real college in the sense of a community. It's facilities aren't great.
Tom Herman has been the OC of Ohio State. He knows what a real college is like and he knows he doesn't have it at UH

It was like that at kickoff. It is odd that Houston cant find 40k people to watch a game there.

Have you ever driven down Scott Street next to the Stadium? It's getting better with UH buying up property in the area, but still shady. I don't blame anyone for not tailgating in that area.
Last year I drove to a friend's house to watch the LSU game that evening. I drove down Scott Street at 11:00 for a noon UH kickoff. Was not delayed in the least, in fact, I wasn't even sure there was a game until I noticed the difference in people walking across the street to the fast food restaurants.

They just built a new stadium. It was opened last season. I can assure you they aren't in a good position to change anything on that front.
