Is there any way the next LSU coach doesn't start out with a divided fanbase?

It looks to me like there will be a pro and anti faction just like with Miles.

If we hire Jimbo or Herman, the dissenters can just DIAF.

Are you kidding? We have people in our fanbase who want Ed Orgeron as head coach over Jimbo Fisher and Tom Herman. As long as people like that exist out there, there will always be a disagreement with who the head coach is.

No, but a win in Tuscaloosa would unite everyone behind the next coach pretty quick.

Jimbo attracts certain types of players alone, regardless. It is as simple as saying the things he is good at are things we are not so good at. If we can retain our Aranda, I am okay with letting a coach like jimbo run the team/offense.

And if he is successful at that, he will repair the fractured fan base. It's that easy. Start winning and everyone loves you.

No matter who is hired the factions have already been created. The coach O vs the anti-coach O's. The fight will continue on.

If they hire Coach O it will be fractured. If they hire Herman or Fisher it wont be. Especially if they can keep Aranda and O on staff. Everybody in their right mind should love that scenario.

nope.

no matter who takes over there is at least one vocal segment that will object. many already have their minds made up. the "herman" segment will not be happy with anyone else. there also is a "spread only" segment (herman and others). there is a prostyle/with spread elements segment and a "i don't care as long as we win" segment.

the spread only segment is very much like a bunch of titty babies; they cry a lot and have a very closed man.

In my mind, the fracture would be because of a few unlikely things:

1. We don't hire Orgeron, he's hired somewhere else as head coach (he won't be), and he has massive success.
2. The coach we hire fails.

If any of that scenario doesn't happen, we'll be OK.
