Wasn’t CUSA considered better than the Sun Belt at the time?

Yea it was. The real failing of this administration was not getting in CUSA, but not being a part of the exodus to the AAC. They let Tech get left behind again.

I feel for the guy. He came in under difficult circumstances, but he looked totally lost and in over his head on Saturday at Kyle Field.

Absolutely BEFORE many of the better teams bolted. Then there’s this whole thing about not playing on Saturdays…

Tech did it to themselves. They publicly talked bad about the Sun Belt a few years before the Sun Belt came to poach teams. This was all around the time Tech turned down playing ULM in the independence bowl. Then when the Sun Belt came calling, they purposely left Tech on the outside looking in.

I still don’t understand letting Holtz go. Other than the last season he he 8-4, 9-3 every year. He also had already tried to move up to big time coaching and it didn’t happen so seemed content to be at tech. Cumbies first year coincided with all the crazy nil stuff so I’d probably give one more year, but it doesn’t look good.

I don’t think fans of major P5 programs understand how detrimental NIL and the current transfer portal rules are for G5 programs.

If the transfer rules were like they were in the 90’s it wouldn’t be nearly as bad. But it’s killing mid major programs that are successful.

First transfers should be free and not cost a year of eligibility, but you should be forced to sit out like an additional red-shirt year. It would stave off some, not all, NIL roster poaching.

Worst head coach, yes, but if we’re including coordinators, Matt House says “hold my beer”

Y’all got what you deserved. Year in and year out those Ruston people think they’re LSU-North.
Come back down to earth and live in irrelevance like you should.
