I know he is likeable and they have different expectations, but they have 19 in the portal and are trending down.

Of those in the portal only Knox and Slusher were doing anything.

Slusher got arrested and left
Knox likely following Dowell to SCAR.

Oh and a backup punter we forgot that one.

Not really losing anything that was producing other than the two mentioned.

9 wins with a NYD bowl game win in year 2 after taking over a mess of a program. Slightly disappointing year 3. His seat isn’t even warm yet. 7 wins or less next year and his seat is at least getting warm.

People must have forgotten how bad Arkansas was when Sam took over to even be mentioning his seat being hot right now. We would have killed for a bowl game before he got here.

Better hope not because Prime Time would be in Fayetteville.

Our AD came close to hiring him already.

Seriously.

Arkansas didn't live up to expectations this season, but the fact that 6-6 is seen as a disappointment in year 3 speaks to the job he has done since inheriting the disaster Morris left behind.

It's hard to tell which programs are trending down just yet when rosters aren't even close to being final with the portal.

This year was disappointing but we were still in 3-4 close losses that could have gone the other way. Way too early to throw in the towel. It's hard for the defense to get much worse next year than it was this year yet we still have a shot at a winning record.

I disagree with the poster’s assertion that Arkansas’s chances with Deion Sanders would be as strong as they were then if the job were to open again. His next job will be a blue blood type job if he’s successful at Colorado. However, his comment about our AD almost hiring Deion in 2019 is not laughable at all. It’s quite well known and widely documented that Arkansas interviewed and heavily considered Deion Sanders for its vacancy in 2019. If we had offered it then, he would’ve taken it.

Yurachek interviews Deion

Pittman pulled them out of the depths of hell to be a bowl eligible type of program. They would be dumb to get rid of him.

I love that guy but when they hired him back in early 2020, I was talking to a former Hog player who went into college coaching after his playing career ended. He told me that the hire would work out for 2-3 years maybe bec of Pittman's recruiting, but that it would go down in flames. He said that there is a valid reason that it is a rarity for an older career position coach to get hired as the head man at a Power 5 program. If he had not made coordinator by that point..he wasn't going to. Much less head coach.

Upcoming Defensive Coordinator hire will probably be make or break for Pittman. We also need to raid the portal
for defensive players.

Lol wut? Are you seriously bragging on the Outback Bowl? The fact that it’s played on NYD adds zero prestige because it’s not a NY6 Bowl.

Kiffin won the Outback Bowl in year 1 and got us an actual NY6 Bowl in year 2

Did Ole Miss hang that 7-21 Sugar Bowl banner like they did for their last one? Rings???

That’s the pinnacle for OM. Go to the Sugar, get arse kicked. Hang a banner and order rings

He’s actually a loser. Because of my rampant hate for Arkansas, I wouldn’t give two shites if he retired there. Woo Sam Sooey

Cute that you feel the need to parse that out. No one gives a shite. Point is that while note elite, Outback Bowl is a “good” bowl game for programs like Arkansas and Sam got us there in year 2.

That dude was horrible. If you watched our game you'd know that. And what's sadder is he played pretty on par with Daniels that day.
